Great video. Brevity, can't say enough about that! For writing and interviews, I listen to myself on tape a lot, and I always breathe a sigh of relief when my questions or explanations end sooner than later. Going on too long can make you appear out of touch. And I love what she says about an interview being a conversation - "a two-way street." This was a great reminder that in an interview you have some control in where the conversation goes. By asking thoughtful questions you can show your interviewer whats on your mind and maybe get in some honest flattery along the way!

Love these tips! The structure of Problem-Solution-Resolution resonated with me. I've used it many times in interviews. The interviewer typically perks up and then proceeds to ask more questions which opens up a conversation. I use professional work examples as well as examples from my non-profit Board service experience.

Thanks for sharing, Sherrie! Glad the structure works for you and helped you open up a conversation. It’s intuitive not only for the speaker but also for the audience!
