Honest question - why do people buy Bear’s products? He’s a fake survival “expert” who slapped his name on anything he thinks people will buy. Is it because his products are cheap compared to alternatives?

They are good value for money, not the best but good value. He is not a "fake" survival expert. He is military (SAS) trained to survive. You pass SAS selection process and then you can call people "fake".

Simply because they are good tools for their price, I have a lot of knives, but Bear's have a special place, also, he is not a fake survival expert, he was military and special forces, the fact that his shows have scenes created by production doesn't mean it's fake, this man did great things in his life and helped and inspired many other people, so maybe you should consider not spewing hate on the internet for no reason.

@@Sparkian12 - he's somewhat of a joke in the community of people who teach survival skills for a living. His show is pure entertainment and nothing more. In fact, the idiotic risks he takes in in shows, purely for production value, are counterproductive in a real survival situation. The fact that you're unaware of all this is evidence of the fact that you haven't exposed yourself to instructors beyond this kind of hyped up TV drama. Honest military people will be the first to tell you that they aren't the foremost authorities on bushcraft or survival. They know enough to be dangerous - surviving in the woods isn't their primary job. They kill bad guys, but need to have basic survival skills to keep them alive in a pinch. As far as "spewing hate," I'm rolling my eyes at that one.

@@BacktotheOutdoors I understand your point of view, but I still think you are wrong when comparing reality with a television show, as I said, their knowledge is real, and yes, they take many unnecessary risks but that is because their program is to entertain, they warn in their programs that everything is entertainment, which doesn't mean it's fake or Bear doesn't have real survival skills, he should even know more than most, you should not judge something fictional with something real like bushcraft or survival, I have been in survival situations and have been properly trained, I have even hunted animals, but I recognize that Bear is a great guy, professional and serious, with a lot of experience in these topics and who seeks to entertain and give a message to people, he is a great guy, and I don't think his work deserves to be devalued or being considered a joke by a community he tries to motivate, even through fiction, neither say that he is a "false expert" just because what he does on his show is not something that should be done in reality, the guy wouldn't act like that in real life.

@@BacktotheOutdoors And another thing, I just read your comment again, I want to think you're joking about what you said about the military, most of them are literally survival professionals, they have to be prepared to kill the bad guys in literally the worst scenarios in nature, that's why they are so good and that includes all types of terrain , desert, snow, jungle, I don't know how you imagine they will kill the bad guys if they don't adapt to the environments, most survival schools are run by ex-military personnel, literally some tests are so demanding that not even the best soldiers can pass them, have you ever really gotten close to the military world? please, don't ever suggest that a military man is no rival for a person who practices bushcraft on their own. 😂
