YES! more lightning please, this is litterally the biggest impact on how your game looks like. You can tell when a game is made in Unity just from developers ignoring it, but if they have worked on properly modifying their settings you start asking yourself if it's a Unity game or an Unreal game.

You can use simple calculations in the inspector. E.q. when your object is on x-position "-2.5" you can add just "+0.1", so you have "-2.5+0.1" if you hit enter, you get the result as the new x-position. Enjoy.

by default, 2D objects are unlit (not affected by any lighting whatsoever), you can change them to a builtin lit shader, which will allow them to work similarly to 3D lighting, but it generally doesn't look that great.
@Scroteydada6 жыл бұрын
In Ori and the Blind Forest, the only character that's a completely 2D rig is Ori. She does nothing but emit light, so shadows aren't a problem. There's no other way around this unless you're gonna be a complete madman and go through every possibility of lighting on every single frame.

Let's say I move objects and lights around and need to see the results during the game. Is that possible to program by pressing a button to recalculate lights? I'm supposing it's still not possible to use realtime area lights in Unity. Is that right?

I just started learning coding with js :( I find it the easiest so far), is there a way to use js in unity or do I have to learn c?
@hernanbrega7 жыл бұрын
blogs.unity3d.com/es/2017/08/11/unityscripts-long-ride-off-into-the-sunset/ "Secondly, you might have already noticed: the Unity 2017.2 beta no longer has a ‘Javascript’ (a.k.a UnityScript) option in the Create Assets menu. All we have done at this point is remove the menu item; all the support is still there, and you will still be able to create new UnityScript files outside of Unity (for example, via MonoDevelop). We’re doing this to help ensure that new users do not continue to adopt UnityScript; it would be irresponsible of us to let them invest time in learning it when it is not long for this world." you can still use JS, but i really recommend learning c#
@Androidus37 жыл бұрын
icenaryhr Sadly, I don't think there is any way to still code in js. If you were a beginner, then you will have a harder time with C#, but if you were a bit familiar with unity and made a couple of games, switching to C# would've been one of the next steps as it is so much powerful than js.
