Why I write… I write to constantly fill the void. I write so I can fill up as much of the void as I can; the one in my heart, in my soul, in my life… They say ‘God never abandons you’, true He doesn’t. He doesn’t abandon no one as he constantly has his eyes on every one of his creation. Instead, he isolates them, amplifies their pain, crushes them completely and watches them as they weep in self-pity. He never abandons anyone. He never lets anyone out of his line of sight. I write about love and friendship when self-loathing clouds my senses, making me forget that I do have both of those things. I really do, but not with all the people I had cherished. In those phases I tend to forget to nourish what I do have left and instead tend to building a shrine to all those I’ve lost. I end up curling up with the memories of all those who are no longer by my side…curling up and whispering prayers to God to let them be happy even when they’ve augmented the void in me and fed further to the preexisting abyss. Even though I know I’ll never be the same ever again completely thanks to them and…a few others of course. Their list goes on and on and sometimes amidst my episodes I stir up realizing how ridiculous my history is that never seems to stop. At times I find myself recalling memories of people I’d long forgotten. At times my lips curl upwards and my fists uncurl when I come to the fruition that my life has been always been that way but my heart surprisingly chooses to selectively lament over a handful exclusively. Yet, I cannot help but wish there was someone indeed. Someone I could lean against when the tides got more forceful, someone I could hold on to not get swept away, someone to enter wine my roots with so I could stay rooted and not get swept away. Still somehow when I come across someone I feel even the most miniscule bit of special towards, I refuse to seek them out, refuse to enter wine my pinky with them and absolutely refuse to lean against them. ‘Cause why bother when I know it’s all a lost cause in the matter of time? So yeah, I know that some small logical part of me knows that God never truly abandons someone, he does all that but also gives chances…a chance to get back up, a chance to feel it all again… Maybe the reason why I write is so I can jot it all down and forget about it all. twitter:@julyswillow
