Erin, you've done a great job this year. If you need help with that alteration, just ask. Most of my sewing at home is alterations for family. Soon, I will be at my seamstress job for, wow, 25 years. I don't get to do a lot of sewing for myself. My goal for 2024 is to sew for myself. I reach a goal this year of getting all my fabric in my house. Burp clothes will be my first make this year. Happy sewing for the year ahead.

Hey neighbor! Wow 25 years?! That’s incredible. I can’t imagine the depth of knowledge you have. I would love to meet you, and yes, I will probably need your help. Alterations really intimidate me. Burp cloths- does that mean a new addition to the family?! After so much time spent sewing for other people, you definitely deserve some beautiful me mades for yourself. Does it still feel like “work” when you’re sewing for fun though? Happy New Year!

Great garments, a lot of sewing! Weirdly, I'm wearing an apron as I watch this and I looked down at the strap. This has a fabric loop with 2 d rings in it, the strap then loops through them to make it adjustable. Have I made any sense?! Enjoy your meal out, I really like that dress and might just have to copy you!

That definitely makes sense! I feel like I’ve seen the D-ring thing successfully executed so something must be wrong with this pattern (or me). Really, it might be the fabric. The quilting cotton could just be too thin and slippery to provide resistance through the rings? I might try it another time in canvas to see!

Nice video! You do such a great job especially since you just started garment sewing. You should try Peek a Boo patterns. Their sizing is very ready to wear. They have some free patterns to try.

Thank you! It was a great year and I learned a lot. I have the Dakota dolman from Peek a Boo printed out, but haven’t made it up for my daughter yet. I’ll have to move it up on the list because their patterns are so highly recommended!
