There needs to be more Hyper GT X's built. They are a great coaster and would shine in smaller parks.
@VestedUTuber
@VestedUTuber 2 жыл бұрын
They're outside the price range of smaller parks, unfortunately. It's the same issue with the Intamin Mega-Lite - the parks they're meant for can't foot the bill and the parks that can would rather put that money into something bigger and more impressive to the GP. Honestly, the only parks I could see getting these in the future are the Fun Spot parks, since they're a full chain that specializes in smaller parks.

This is literally the Chance Rides version of the RMC Raptor, except this came before the Raptor. It's smooth, compact, and has lots of ejector airtime. This ride even uses RMC lap bars!

Fun Fact, Lightning Run appears to run on steel/alloy wheels. Something not found on other steel coasters, that use polymer wheels.

I wonder if they use urethane bushings or blocks between trucks and car frames to reduce roughness of metal wheels. also Metal wheels , least friction of all other oprtions meaning more SPEED!

@Arrow Dynamics Inc. Their shape is comparable to B&Ms wheels, so it hugs/wraps around the track. Perhaps modern metal machining tools allow it with their higher tolerances. Essentially, the tiny imperfections in the past would make it too rough, but modern machining can 3D carve out a perfect wheel. It could also simply be because it is a prototype. So it was easier to just do steel to experiment with shape and design. Essentially every wheel has to be custom made currently. Bad for mass produced models, but better for a still one off prototype.

Fun fact: at 0:35 if you look closely right before and after the first drop you could actually see Greased Lightning's footers from where the beyond vertical loop used to be. And for those who don't know what grease lightning was it was a Schwarzkopf shuttle launching roller coaster that used to run at six flags Kentucky Kingdom before his closure in 2009. Another fun fact is that lightning run uses the same station as Greased Lightning as well.

The big reason why parks don’t buy into this is it’s low marketability. Enthusiasts love it and GP love it after they ride it, and it gets popularity from word of mouth. A hyper GTX wont draw massive regional crowds because there’s nothing to market with this ride
