Lights is honestly one of the most inspiring musicians you will ever see. Obviously she is herself with every bit of music she makes. She hasn't changed at all since she came to the US. She continued to be her wacky and amazing self. I respect that. You can tell that she's confident about who she is and that she just wants peace.

True that. You can easily think of an example, see a picture of it in your head, but if you were trying to explain it to someone who has never experienced it, you may as well be trying to turn water to wine. It's just one of those things we all know and experience, but can't teach or explain, and I think that's why it is so powerful.

I like lights.. i like how she does everything in her songs.. she has acoustic and electric and shes been in screamo songs example: Dont go- Bring Me The Horizon. shes very open with things and shes happy with what she is and where she has gotten to. i think people should just respect her and listen to her.. her song face up is my favorite though i like the meaning with it. :)

Exactly what I asked after hearing this song and falling in love with it! I asked several people around me and they couldn't come up with a definition. It's pretty much an idea to everyone, just like Love is. No one can ever really come up with a meaning of the word, 'cause it's something you feel. and you can describe the feeling, but that's not necesarily a definition to the word itself.

I love songs that have this kinda start to it. It just makes the song more intent. It makes you want to listen & hear the deep lyrics behind it all. This is one, Another I can think of is Photograph by 12 stones, but they're rock & harder than this song. Granted I love this song. & it's calmer & slower, but still puts that intent feeling to it. I absolutely love Lights. If I can go on an obssessiong for a week then later on, come back & just absolutely love it more, it's a #1 favorite of mine.

I was thinking it was just the dark side of a relationship ending "I think the meaning of this song is fairly obvious. It's about a relationship that fell apart without her realizing it would come to an end. They were her everything but she couldn't see any notion that it would end underneath all of the "silver linings." She goes on to say that the Romance just is. Nothing more. It's just there and it doesn't belong. She feels heartbroken and implies that it was the other person's fault.

+Tanaye Holmes I see this song as a song that states she doesn't believe in love the way she did before; the honeymoon phase and butterflies and all of that. After going through a hard breakup/hard experience with love, she is left alone and lost to wander through life, obviously shocked about how dark and poisoning love can be- which is why she states: "Romance JUST is..." there's not much to it, it just ends up hurting us: one slight problem can destroy a whole set of happy memories ("with a little poison we can burn this whole place down to the ground again") She's also said in an interview that "you're three sides of my eight sided circle" means the following: "An eight sided circle is an octagon which is a stop sign, and three sides of it is an incomplete stop sign, so basically it’s about this person you can’t stop, you’re addicted to them. You can’t stop yourself from getting deeper in with them, and that’s where the struggle begins." -Lights It's a very negative and heartbreaking point-of-view about love. Isn't amazing how she was just 16 when she wrote this? Anyways, this is my take on it, hope it helps you find whatever interpretation you make of this song... it's hauntingly beautiful.

@Jake38nine & only 2 bands/singers have done that to me. Lights & Eyes Set To Kill/Lexie. So they're my top singers/bands. I know wierd, go from a screamo/hard rock, female singer, guy screamer, band to an electronic/acoustic Lexia to an acoustic/electronic/techno Lights. It's amzing, but I love them!!!
