There must be a way for light speed to add an “install at your own risk” agreement so we can install our own. Not many professional helicopter pilots are going to sacrifice the downtime of shipping their helmet away or pay the extra money to buy a new helmet unless theirs is due for replacement.

Very nice. But the authorized dealer only is a no go. Pilots cannot stop to fly for weeks while waiting for the helmet to be upgraded.... Too sad

love the lightspeed products. Too bad these cant be installed myself. Having the time and added expense going through authorized installers is rough.

Here I was just about to dissect my old Zulu and retrofit them to my helmet and I found this video. But further investigation reveals I can only buy them retrofitted by an authorized installer. Is that correct? I can't just buy the kit for my own install?

@michaelking42, Thank you for your interest in our Zulu H-Mod kits. You are correct, these kits must be installed by one of our authorized installers. The reason for this is one of safety. As you know, a helmet is primarily designed to protect the wearer against injury or death. It is vital that modifications are performed without compromising the integrity of the helmet. Lightspeed has spent a great deal of time certifying our global team of installers. All our authorized installers are either helmet manufacturers or experts in performing helmet retrofits. We hope you choose Lightspeed for your helmet needs and would be happy to point you in the right direction. Please don’t hesitate to reach out either via email at support@lightspeedaviation.com or by phone, at 800-332-2421, M-F from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm PST.

@@LightspeedAviation Would have bought this kit. But the installation by authorized installers just made me change my mind. I think you're losing potential customers by having to go through installers.

@@maitreguiguiYes they are as nothing in this kit will compromise safety and it is not difficult to run wires.
