When I heard the remix of Fly from Yakuza 3, I legit had to pause the game and take a minute. I was almost crying when I heard this theme. Yakuza 3 is my favorite game of the whole series, and hearing this remix was like a love letter to all the Yakuza fans who were around when Yakuza 3 first came out in 2009.

Figured I'd give my opinion on the new tracks. Pseudo Fight, Eternal Fire, Collision of our Swords, and Soar are absolutely amazing. Hell, I might like Soar even more than the original Fly. Pray Me -Revive-, With Vengeance, Pledge of Demon and Sounds Storm are pretty good songs. Yeah, I kinda wish they just made Ishin remixes of those osts, but it's still good hearing them again. However, one thing that bugs me is the use of Town Bully. I mean, seriously? A regular combat theme for a boss tune? Town Bully doesn't even have anything to do with Akiyama or Ryuji. I really wish they just kept Rhapsody of Chivalry. Other than that, I am pretty happy with how the OST for Ishin Kiwami turned out. I was really worried that they'd replace Assassination of Bodhisattva with a remix of Two Dragons. Or worse, just flat out reuse Two Dragons. So, I am glad that those we're the only songs/fights replaced. I mean Before the Sasanqua Falls is really good, but it was also reused like hell back in the original Ishin.

I'm satisfied with most of the soundtrack. Assassination of Bodhisattva wasn't replaced in favor of a Two Dragons remix and the new songs are amazing. My mayor complains are Town Bully replacing Rhapsody of Chivalry (why? it doesn't make any sense) and that Pray Me Revive, Pledge of Demon and With Vengeance didn't get the Ishin treatment with traditional instruments. Don't take me wrong, I love them all to my core but they are out of place. This is not 0 nor Yakuza 1/Kiwami. Some shamizen and taiko drums and less techno would have helped, I know RGG composers have the talent to make them work into the song and amaze us. My personal take on the names given the context of the game (any suggestions are welcomed): Pray me in Ashes (Yoshida Toshimaro) With Iron Breathing Vengeance (Takeda Kanryusai) Pledge of Ancient Demon (Ito Kashitaro)

@@manukau5271if it’s the same 3 in Fushimi I was stuck on, 71, 38 (iirc), and 72, you need to collect every memoir for Satow (Bacchus). Youll have to give him 92% of them to trigger 71, and after you finish 71, 38 opens up. After you complete you can get the last one. And once you give him the final one it’ll trigger the final substory. There’s a guide that’s got all of them if you Google it, just remember the last one you can pick up is the one in front of the locked door on the forest path.

Having Town Bully play for Katsura/Saigo is such a weird, and pretty dumb decision tbh. It's the most random song choice they could have chosen, it kinda took me out of it for a moment. I wish they just kept the original in. I felt similar about With Vengeance and Pledge of Demon, but to a far lesser extent. Idk why they didn't make new remixes for them, even though they did it for Hijikata and Nagakura. But it was still pretty cool to hear those songs again. Same for the other reused boss themes from old games.

Hot take: I don't like how they put old themes in the game. FM Soundstorm, fine, i kinda missed this theme from 3, but every other song feels out of place. Pledge of Demon and With Vengeance are a prime example of this, they fit perfectly in the themes of Zero, while in the context of Ishin they feel kinda wrong. Especially With Vengeance for me.
