I'd just like to say that I'm a fan of your truck . A guy in Rockhampton had a bird scarer in a pre 1980 model for a long time. Unless he updated he repowered with Big 4cycle..alloys ..polished B double trailers and a lot of klms. He sadly passed on the job far from home. Doing what he knew. Older model outfits can sure last well cared for and one owner driver . Cheers mate

We had two regular contractors running out of Kwikasair Express, Coode Road, West Melbourne both Cabovers both 3408 Caterpillars in the 1980's. I cannot tell you how much I would love to relive those days again !!! Clean oil, clean coolant, oil sampling every oil change, start up and shut down the engine properly, don’t over rev the engine especially when going downhill, do main and big end bearing rolls at the recommended intervals. Also being a CAT they last forever.

First, you need to have your truck licence. and to drive the road trains that pull between 2-4 trailers you need a special one that lets you drive them. then, you need to get a job driving the smaller trucks for a while till you get enough experience to handle the bigger rigs.
@oriontheraptor81194 жыл бұрын
Why do Australian truckers double trailer or do road trains ? Is it because of the distances and the need for as much delivered at a time as possible or something ? Because in America we rarely see trucks pulling more then one trailer but seems in Australia trucks pulling 2 or 4 trailers at a time is common and I’ve always wondered the reason
@husq21004 жыл бұрын
Australia is nearly the size of mainland America, with 1/10th the population. It is more efficient in certain areas with certain loads to pull multiple trailers.

@@husq2100 ah ok thanks for the info 😇
@snoopytheace44874 жыл бұрын
@@oriontheraptor8119 I also have heard that its because of the very small amount of railroads in Australia. in the US we have a TON of railroad lines. seems like every other street I drive has one. so most loads get loaded onto a freight train so there is no reason to have multiple trailers.
@brendaeulenstein42553 жыл бұрын
@@snoopytheace4487 Yes, there are not many rail lines. If you google a map of Australia you will see why. Many of our towns are only a few thousand population, especially out west.
