I listened to this carefully, and it almost broke my heart. My first impression is that this song is about someone very close to you who passed away. If that is the case, allow me to give my sincere condolences and a distant hug. Grief and anger have no timeline, so feeling that this song was written too far from what actually happened, well the pain is always there. This song made me think of my sister who died in childbirth, seventeen years ago, so thank you.

To me this song told the story of a failed romantic relationship. The idea of locking up the past like it never happened is symbolic to what goes on in many relationships where people like to pretend all the good (and even the bad) didn’t happen after the break up. You hear from everyone just forget about it and move on. The story from the singer’s point of view shows someone who mourns for the loss of this love but knows she can’t have it back. Love was all that captured in memories, so when the bad comes back in one’s head you question how everything could have gone wrong. The “moment of regret” and “I miss you” show that they want someone back, but in a way I find that is still obtainable to some degree. I find this song coming directly after “electricity” in you album is also showing the striking difference between the initial spark of a new and confusing relationship vs the possible downfall when one views the relationship as unable to be continued. Those are my thoughts anyway.😅 I’ve gotten back to listening to the album again and it’s all been on my mind.😂 😄

Although there’s not too much going on, I will say that I saw it, I felt it, I listened very carefully, and in the end this video was speaking incredible volumes. Job well done to everyone working on this project and to you as well Michelle. Also, somebody call the police, she is murdering me with those gorgeous looks. All jokes aside, it’s great to see you evolve so much as an artist these years. 🤍🖤🎵🔥

I love songs that pull at the heart strings like this. It's nice to have my emotions stirred up and remind me that my heart isn't frozen after all. Great song and great video and great performance. Really, really well produced all around. I can relate the feelings in this song in a lot of ways, but honestly it predominately really makes me sad about MLP's ending T_T But then I remember all the happy moments and realize I don't really want to act like it never happened at all. So for me it's a reminder to not forget.

The story I’m depicting is someone who is famous and a big person (Hence why I think the setting is a really fancy house) who isn’t feeling like a normal person anymore and wants to feel more like one (hence the change in clothes and removal of makeup) and packs their things and moves away. By the way Michelle I am in love with the music video and you look amazing in every shot! Love from Australia :)

Hmmm you know Michelle after thinking about it for a while to me your song and video means this. 🎵Things have been tough, throughout these two years, but they will get better eventually. As long as we have faith, and never give in soon everything will work out. Now it's time to step up, or it's time to back down and there's only one answer for me. And I'll stand up and fight cause I know that I'm right. And I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready. Ready as I'll ever be.🎵

Sorry for late comment lol. I always took it as a breakup song. It really helped for me to play it on the piano and scream the lyrics after my first serious boyfriend broke up with me.

Everyone is free to interpret the theming and storyline in the video but to clarify, this is not connected to anybody in my personal life - and certainly not Gabe and Claire who are close friends of mine!
