Sir that's called reverb effect..the wow factor is..unlike these days, old fellas used to give reverb during take. They used to arrange the studio that way. These daya they give various kind of reverbs via Plugins & softwares while treating the vocals after singer's sung the song.

For the benefit of the listeners, I would like to humbly share some information about the "third individual" in this song i.e., the Bhutta -Seller. He is one of the unsung stalwarts of Indian Cinema. His name is Jankidas, he was a seasoned actor he acted in well above 300 movies. He was also a world record holder in cycling in the 1940's and was a founding member of the Cycling Federation of India. Even though he did a lot of movies where he was type cast, he always brought a fresh perspective in the numerous roles he did. He also introduced actors like Madhubala, Meena Kumari and Mala Sinha in movies where he was a production assistant. He was also the author of numerous books. In simple words, he was a true gem of Indian Cinema.

The 50's up till the late 70's were the Renaissance period Hindi playback music. Be that in composition lyrics singing or the sheer quality of the musicians. That period seems unsurpassable now. It takes centuries to have periods like this. This is once in several generations happenings. One doesn't have the destiny to encounter Shankar Jaykishan or Laxmikant Pyarelal every other day. Neither it is possible to listen to golden voices of Mohammad Rafi Kishore Kumar or Lata Mangeshkar. I consider myself truly lucky to enjoy this musical geniuses of such talents. The likes of which we will not find again. The Angels of music are gone forever.
