ESO - Magicka 1-Pet Sorcerer (91k+ on Raid Dummy) - See Description - Elsweyr

This is a showcase of the 1-Pet Sorcerer rotation recommended for use in trials in Elsweyr. This footage was filmed on the PTS 5.0.4 but is good to go for Elsweyr release.

This is a rotation performed on the new Raid Dummy. This means there are a selection of buffs and debuffs present, which allows easy comparison between different classes, and for other players to compare against each other, if they wish, as a 'solo' player, without the need of help from another player; a really valuable addition to the game.
Here I have made the decision to use the 'Ghastly Eye Bowl' food. This is so that we can compare more fairly with the Stamina classes where I used the equivalent food for Stamina classes. Also, to make up potential small sustain deficits from no availability from this dummy of Spell Absorption passive and resource return from extra synergies. The dummy also takes 4 minutes to kill. Considering very few fights need this type of sustained damage, and that my Magicka Drain is similar to that of the 6 Million Dummies I posted prior to this, I think this is reasonable. The DPS numbers for these dummies are mainly for comparison purposes.
Gear-wise I used Zaan, Mother's Sorrow and Siroria here. The new False God's Devotion set, which drops from Sunspire, looks to be an excellent set. In many real encounters where Siroria is not optimal, I may well be using Mother's Sorrow paired with this set and use Double Bloody Mara (which is now the best Bi-stat food).
Summary of relevant Magicka Sorcerer DD changes in Elseweyr, and my brief comments:
Daedric Prey now has a Pet Taunt functionality (similar to the one built into Heavy Attacks), and pets will prioritize these targets. Damage bonus for Pets from this ability has been reduced to 40% from 55%. Pets were already very strong, so this change doesn't really hurt the PVE Pet Sorc too much.
Liquid Lightning is now a 12 second AOE instead of 10 seconds. Lightning Flood is now an 8-second morph and had its damage increased by 5%. Very welcome buffs for the class, and now Lightning Flood is truly a great morph if it wasn't already. I would be using Lightning Flood now in any trial which involves cleave or trash DPS, even if Liquid Lightning's contribution to ST DPS may be higher.
Endless Fury now returns Magicka if you hit a target which dies within 5 seconds, rather than only for the killing blow. Increased the Magicka return by approximately 10%. This is a nice quality of life improvement for Magsorcs in PVE should you decided to use this skill.

This rotation is a lot more simple than the 2-Pet Sorcerer rotation. It offers flexibility in bar space (space to slot a shield, or an execute, or surge etc) and is easier to sustain as well. I'd say this rotation, if performed well, offers the most incredible value for DPS vs effort, out of all Magicka Classes.
Daedric Prey is the most important ability to keep up. Followed closely are Lightning Flood (or Liquid Lightning if you rather) and blockade. Usually, I will recast Daedric Prey as soon as it explodes. Aim for 93%+ uptime on this ability. Rearming Trap and Twilight (until 50% enemy HP) are your lesser priorities in this rotation. Occasionally there will be conflicts in abilities that need to be reapplied, so keep the above in mind. Crystal Fragments and then Elemental Weapon should be cast whenever there is nothing else to do.
If I could suggest a static rotation, I would try the rotation below. It won't be as strong because the Daedric Prey uptime is lower, but otherwise, it should be pretty good:
Buff Up:
Channelled Acceleration - Twilight - Atro Ulti - Prey (then drop trap if you don't use acceleration)
Then
Flood - Wall - 5x Spammable (Ele Weapon/Frag) - Prey
Flood - Wall - Twilight (until 50% then just use 1x Spammable) - Trap - 3x Spammable - Prey

hi, personally i am using a razer naga mouse, so i bind all abilities on there. i prefer it this way because im not super great at using my left hand to do much more than wasd, potion (q), synergy (x) and tab targetting. :) lightning flood, and all ground-based aoes are a bit clunky. if you are doing the rotation at full speed, rely entirely on your timing, and never double-press it, as it will make you cast it twice. timing is important because it will not even come out if you time it too early.

Hey liko so I just recently discovered my love of sorcs (the last class I leveled to 50 based on your videos and turns out to be one of my favorites) why is it that you choose to run bound armor over an execute? Does it actually provide more dps? Another guide I found advocated for swapping the armor with the execute, what have you discovered about this decision if you don’t mind me asking

The sorcerer execute just isn't very good. The spell damage and especially max magicka passives from bound armor buffs all your abilities and it should win out, especially if your team is full of other classes who have stronger executes. If there are things such as orbs in cloudrest or spheres in cloudrest, they'd be good candidates for fights where the return magicka morph would be good.

Light attack between every ability. Try and time your heavy attacks with when the enemy is offbalanced because you'll receive double resource return. Otherwise heavy attack when all dots are down and you're directly replacing ele/frags with heavy attacks.

If I were to run necropotence instead of siroria for armors, how much DPS differences will there be? Also when Im running siroria my magicka is only at 33k, how are you able to get 46k magicka? Even with my necropentece my magicka is around 42k. Im at cp360 by the way. Great video as always man

Thanks. These stats night include the war horn buff which is 10% extra magicka. Also check your jewelry I am using all arcane here. Hard to pinpoint an exact dps difference but on a mobile fight where you might not keep stacks up that well, the difference isnt going to be huge for sure.

Sorry for the 8000 questions but I keep noticing things, so for this you have comet ult instead of the atro. Wouldn’t you gain more spell damage from the sorc passive with the atro slotted? Or is the regen from comet worth more than the spell damage bonus?

There's regen and max magicka from the comet. Generally it's pretty close, can't go wrong slotting either.

@Zombie Head if you get a great group together with tanks who have it down to a science. There's not really that much movement during boss fights. Even the VMOL twins, the only movement is during conversions. There's spots where you move for a moment sure, but then you stand in a spot long enough for siroria to work.

if you mean with regards to the scalebreaker patch, matriarch is a lot weaker now. trap is my preferred option because it does a little dps, reduces magicka drain for improved sustain, and allows a more fluid rotation. channeled is of course still very good and more useful in certain situations.

i think at this point, gear doesnt matter, but its more likely your rotation. do check out some videos which explains some of the nuances of combat. alcast, or t3hasiangod have made some ones that i can recommend.

I have checked and the siphon skill appears to be buffed by vma daggers. And with the 10% dot buff on necromancer, do you think a vma build could be effective competitive on a stamina necromancer? I don't much like the skull, and sustain would be better with a channel no?

i just recently checked, and no the siphon skill isnt buffed by vma daggers in any way. vma build i will look at, so no comment on the effectiveness there. stamina necromancer has usually only 1gcd for the skull as a spammable as it is, because blastbones, being so strong and so cheap, is hard to drop.

You would need to change the build completely if you planned to go pvp, equip a resto staff and use sets more focused on sustain. You would also need to change your cp allocation and make sure all your gear has the impenetrable trait.

@@georgelima6376 the 'low' dps is mainly because of your CP. If you nail down animation cancelling and get to perhaps 300/400 CP then you should increase your dps by roughly 5-6k. Do you have issues with sustaining your magicka? Try to level out fighter's guild to get rearming trap as well it is very useful.

sustain required will depend entirely on your level of group support and fight time. first thing i would do is pick a race that you're happy with. there isnt much a difference between altmer and witchmothers vs breton and bistat. but for fights where sustain is not a problem (which is rare) then the altmer will win

for the elsweyr patch - replace double-barred pet with double-barred inner light. you can also remorph the daedric prey if you want. thats more or less it. its not very good though things may change in scalebreaker.

For me, arcane simply outperforms bloodthirsty. The pets are not scaling with bloodthirsty nor spell damage so infused jewelry isn't an improvement. Siroria front bar is entirely possibly and likely better in situations where its easy to keep up the stacks. Either way choice on the gear is yours depending on how you play it. Thanks.

The one on backbar is the one with the most uptime. He prefers more dps from flame probably, and feels that the sustain is fine without perfect uptime on enchant

I haven't tried the static rotation myself so I can't give an exact number but I know it will be solid. Arcane will almost certainly be stronger than bloodthirsty in trial groups where there are other dds with stronger executes. According to my tests this does also mean the extra stats from bound aegis contributes better than the execute too. Thanks

inner light gives 7% max magicka and 2% recovery? bound aegis gives 8% magicka and 2% spell damage and minor ward/resolve, something like that.

Mother's sorrow is good. Run it on body so you have it active on both bars (you cant run it with two staffs cause you need the maelstrom inferno staff on back bar). As for replacing Zaan's, I would use illambris for single target fights and grothdaar for aoe fights.

@@Raliator Mother's sorrow should be the one replacing Siroria. You need to use spell strategist as the other set (well you don't NEED to but its optimal and not too hard to farm). If you do not want to farm spell strategist, you could use something like Julianos, but spell strategist is best in slot for now so I highly recommend using it. Your set up should be the following Head - Grothdaar/Illambris/Zaan Shoulders - Grothdaar/Illambris/Zaan Chest - Mother's Sorrow Waist - Mother's Sorrow Hands - Mother's Sorrow Legs - Mother's Sorrow Feet - Mother's Sorrow Necklace - Spell Strategist Ring 1 - Spell Strategist Ring 2 - Spell Strategist Inferno 1 - Spell Strategist ; shock enchant (absorb magicka if having problems with sustain) Inferno 2 - Maelstrom ; shock enchant You can switch gear around a bit but make sure Mother's Sorrow is always active and Spell Strategist is active on the first bar. All armour is divines with magicka enchant. Jewellery can be infused/arcane/ bloodthirsty with a spell damage enchant. Hope this helps!

How’d the sustain on this build

In terms of natural sustain it is the worst of all magickas. None of the other classes required absorb magicka enchants to get through this raid dummy. But even with absorb magicka enchants it comes out stronger than other magicka classes.

Hey Liko, i've watched this vid yesterday, noticed that you have absorb + berserker enchants instead of fire/shock + absorb - do you think is better? I switched to absorb + berserker cause i thought it's pretty good idea, but it seems that my dps is slighly worse than it was - I'm checking it solo on 6kk dummy to get good comparision as i was doing it before for a long time. I don't think there is too much of a difference between them. A fire enchant is a good source of burning damage, which can add up - chilled and concussion damage aren't nearly as good.

Is it really relevant to use Siroria on trials like CR +1+, where you have to move a lot? I can't understand. It works perfect with dummy or single boss, but it doesn't work when you have to move.

If you have the skill to keep up siroria, which many people successfully do, absolutely yes

after the PTS changes, what would you say the final parse value for mag necros is currently on live, or is it roughly the same as your PTS vid? also, do you it'll be worth running a single NB in a raids group so everyone can get the crit passive bonus? thanks

I will upload it possibly today or early tomorrow. It's certainly a lot less than my 5.0.0 video. I'd say purely dps wise it is middle of the pack, but take into account the major vulnerability ulti, it's right up there in terms of overall value.

don't know what DEV made the combat in this game and what amateur animator backed it and of course, the terrible sound effects but the guy who coded this combat and these fucking timers and this lame as rotation this game has should be literally obliterated. The world of this game is great but this combat is garbage and getting all the sets is a big waste of time. If you don't have a conveyor belt of friends coming off the assembly line it's impossible to really do that content except for with the toxic people you randomly join with. the whole find a guild never works. I have been in many with many new people ,all made promises by the important guild leader that was never kept. Once they find their perfect little circle of fat fucks they never bother with the rest of the guild, just leech of them. The game is horribly flawed on almost every level.

@NickoLps Hardest Magicka class to master inPvE DPS but feel free it is easy for you. Weaving and rotation in mBlade is the hardest since beginning and a lot more with funnel health weaving 1 year ago.
