HOW IS JAIL EVEN A REAL SONG
@vau_st8 ай бұрын
Same with the complete last half of this album. This is not made by/for humans
@TheSanndwichh8 ай бұрын
It feels like 9 minutes of somebody over explaining a joke
@vau_st8 ай бұрын
@@TheSanndwichh I swear to GOD when someone overexplains a joke, it's akin to taking a whimsical, light-hearted moment and dissecting it with a magnifying glass until all its charm is lost in a sea of unnecessary details. Imagine you're at a dinner party, and someone tells a witty anecdote that's met with laughter and amusement. It's like a delicate bubble of mirth floating in the air. But then, someone else, perhaps feeling the need to assert their own cleverness, decides to dissect this bubble with an analytical scalpel, probing into every nuance and subtlety until the laughter dissipates like air escaping a punctured balloon. Firstly, there's a sense of anticipation as the overexplainer gears up to unravel the joke. It's like watching someone tiptoe precariously across a tightrope, uncertain of where they'll land. Then comes the deluge of unnecessary information, drowning the simplicity of the joke in a torrent of verbosity. Each detail piled upon the next feels like adding unnecessary layers to a perfectly baked cake, leaving it overly dense and devoid of the lightness it once possessed. As the overexplanation continues, there's a growing discomfort akin to watching a car crash in slow motion. You can't help but cringe as the humor is stretched thin, akin to tugging at a rubber band until it snaps. The initial amusement gives way to a sense of awkwardness, like being stuck in an elevator with someone who won't stop talking about their stamp collection. Furthermore, there's a palpable shift in the energy of the room as the overexplainer drones on, like a gust of wind snuffing out a candle flame. The once lively atmosphere becomes stifled, suffocated under the weight of unnecessary exposition. It's as if a playful dance has been replaced by a tedious lecture, leaving everyone longing for the spontaneity that has been lost in the sea of overelaboration. Moreover, there's a sense of frustration that builds with each drawn-out explanation, like trying to untangle a knot that only seems to tighten with each tug. You can almost feel the collective eye-rolling as the overexplainer digs themselves deeper into a pit of verbosity, oblivious to the diminishing returns of their efforts. Eventually, what was once a moment of levity becomes a test of endurance, like trudging through quicksand in search of solid ground. The laughter, if any remains, feels forced, like a feeble attempt to salvage what little humor remains amidst the wreckage of overexplanation. In the aftermath, there's a lingering sense of disappointment, like biting into a promising-looking pastry only to find it stale and flavorless. The magic of the original joke has been tarnished, its sparkle dulled by the relentless onslaught of unnecessary elaboration. In conclusion, when someone overexplains a joke, they rob it of its vitality, leaving behind a hollow shell of what once was. It's a lesson in the delicate balance between wit and verbosity, a reminder that sometimes less is indeed more when it comes to humor.

I mean, that implies it's more likely the album is good, not that everyone has bad taste except brad

@yan_dj ye. Brad taste mostly has bad taste. Hence, the name Brad taste

@@yan_djI mean, I think it’s less important whether someone says an album is “good” or “bad”, and more important that you understand why they came to the conclusion that they did. Something that’s a positive for some people can be a negative for others. Dicky is one of those guys where his lyrics are what some would call “corny” as a bad thing but others would call “goofy” as a good thing. He’s just really not for everybody, and that isn’t an indication that he’s a high class act or anything, just that he’s divisive. Personally, I used to like him when I was a college freshman nearly a decade ago, but I feel like I’ve outgrown him with age. I think a lot of people have had that experience with Dicky.

This is indeed one of The Albums of 2024. It was created and produced and had some lyrics written on it, and most of all, It was created by Lil Dicky.

I’ll preface this by saying I’m a big fan of Brad and I knew he wouldn’t like it. I respect it. But personally I really like Lil Dicky, love DAVE, and really like the album. Obviously, a lot of it makes more sense in the context of the show (especially Jail), but I just thought I’d give my two cents and say I’m glad I enjoy it as much as I do. All love Brad.

I think the worst part about Lil Dicky is his fans call him "creative"... as if he doesn't rip off other major artist's styles, parody already existing media for his music videos, and recycle the same overly sexual, self-deprecating jokes and sense of humor in every piece of content he creates. He offers nothing new or interesting, yet he's tricked his fans into thinking he has nothing but wholly original ideas. Just an absolute culture vulture.

the most clever thing about this album is the title. I think its playing on the word zenith, which is to say that he is claiming to be at the peak of his performance. Obviously he isnt, I was genuinely groaning throughout the whole album, but i think its a somewhat clever bit of wordplay

I'm not gonna defend the quality of music to this album, because yeah, it's pretty bad. But I will defend it in SOME WAY. The way this album works, or really doesn't work is that it's completely supplemental to the show. It needs the show to even be listenable. I know that sounds bad, and it is, but it also means that you're losing context when you're simply listening to the music by itself. Take for example the Jail part 1 song. There is an entire literal episode that revolves around the song and what him making it means from a character perspective. Taken out of context it's just... horrible. But in context, it actually works, weirdly enough.
@peytonalexander530010 ай бұрын
That is completely fair, honestly. Especially since it literally has (The DAVE Soundtrack) in the album title. That said, it’s still trash. If I watched a show with this as the soundtrack, even if it’s tied to the events of the episode, I feel like I would just turn it off and watch something else.

The Penith album sounds like an absurdly mid version of Camp by Gambino, which is especially depressing since he is almost a decade older than Gambino was when he released that album. And also especially depressing because Gambinos childhood love story in the outro was far more relevant and actually pointed than Penith's awkward handjob story
