Answer is yes, he has played in many tourneys since T6 and has consistently placed very high; during the launch of T8, GM said that he wasn't going to be going to offline tourneys for the foreseeable future because it's not worth it to him.

I have my days where I use them more. They are weaker than they were in Tekken 7 in terms of damage, but heat engagers and the nerfs to wake up kicks buffed multi throws. Jaguar Step multi being full homing is great also.

I guess since they also nerfed king wavedash to not have high crush so it probably is harder to slip under highs and start a chain throw

Parries aren't as good on this game. King's are 5f startup now so he can't even parry the 2nd hit of Lee's ws+2,3 anymore among many other strings. They aren't totally useless, but I'd rather armor, evade, or just block

Majin, can you please explain the lack of heat burst in rounds you lose and just in general? There are so many rounds where you don’t activate heat and You never seem to use heat burst (outside of a combo extender) and I’m not sure why. I say that totally acknowledging that I might be missing something.

In this game you can lose so fast that you don't get the chance to even think about using heat burst. King has one of, if not, the worst heat burst on the game and I don't like the situation on hit or block if it makes contact with the opponent. There is no foolproof "follow up" to use after it connects to win the next interaction. I'd rather use it in combos or from heat engagers when I know that I'm in full control of the next interaction.

@@lilmajin yeah I don’t get to play regularly but I was trying to HB last night to steal turns or disrupt my opponent and I just got destroyed before the power crush factor could take effect. I thought about this question while it was happening and laughing to myself about answering my own question lol. That said, in the instances I did get it to hit, I have gotten good at buffering giant swing right after (assuming the spacing is right) and it almost always counter hits. The timing to buffer it is a bit delayed but super satisfying when I get it.
