I was saying he has to give himself credit as well, beating Arslan, probably the best tekken player rn, with any character is difficult. Even Knee struggles to do that with Feng, who is usually placed higher in the tier list.

PhiDX played very well. I think another good recognition can go to Kkokkoma since he played crazy well and eliminated Arlsan from CEO 2023.

Yh but kkokoma is a world renowned player so it isn't completely surprising he could take on and take out arslan from the tournament, phi was practically unknown (unless you watched a few icfc ) so it's understandable why so many are talkin about him more

It's just iconic how he eliminates him with the same character and setup Knee used to reset at TWT 23. I just thought it was an insane match, but PhiDX played out his mind, and I've been watching his stuff for a while so it's even crazier. Phi deserves it. Just thought I bring up Kkokkoma is all lol. 😂

⁠@@yOGlooctis is not OP. People are always throwing that word around and diminishing the value of it. Even Arslan, the best tekken player right now who lost to noctis, puts noctis in A- tier. Noctis has never had a strong tournament presense because he isnt OP. If he was OP you would see him a lot more often in top 8. Steve is better. Jin is better. Paul, DJ, Shaheen, Geese, Zafina, Ganryu, Julie, Lucky Chloe, Feng and at least 4 other are better. You aren’t OP if you’re not even top 10. Online? Playing against a noctis sucks. Because his seeable moves cant be reacted to due to latency. Offline? He is mid tier. People who use him in tourney just rely on fundamentals.

I don't think that Arslan's kunimitsu got more moves than phidx's noctis. Arslan was lucky in combo breaker tournament coz kunimitsu was not the best choice , instead he should have gone with kazuma or leo, Arslan always unter estimated leo but leo blows take much damage and leo got style too. Even against kokoma's fang in ceo 2023 Arslan's kunimitsu was clueless running short of moves, Arslan 's leo has beaten joka's fang, instead of kunimitsu should have picked leo. As a good suggestion .

I think that's also kind of Arslan's style though. If you think back to when he was winning with Kazumi. Arslan's so good with his timing, his poking, his counterhits, and the basic Tekken game and fundamentals that he wins with very simple tools. I think Kuni is a good pick for that simple but strong style. I think he just didn't bring enough heat to contend with PhiDX or Kkokkoma this time around. That, and you have to remember that when you're at the top of the pyramid like Arslan is, people are going out of their way to study your style to counter it *Specifically*

CBM and PhiDX don’t really use warp strike that often. It’s a risky move. Opponent can sidestep it and you get launched. Kuni dagger almost identical move but tracks better and is jab punishable. High level Noctis is standard fair Tekken. Good safe mid pokes, chip lows and a i13 CH launcher. Above average movement for baiting whiffs. Super basic character at high level.

CBM played Noctis too in the same tournament and got a higher finish. His Noctis is even more plain. Just pokes and good movement. He doesn’t even use the big sword moves. Noctis has so good Tekken fundamental tools. No need to go unsafe.
