Never had an artist/celebrities death personally affect me until Lil Peep. Didn’t hear of his music until he died, not ashamed to admit, gave it a listen and thought it was okay. Then I REALLY got into it last year. There’s something haunting about someone making art that you intimately relate to, and you only ever hear about it and fall in love with it until they’re already gone. Some of his shit gives me chills, calling things before it happened and he was obviously very talented on the mic and with writing.

"so it seems everytime I die, I wake up" Peep was an old soul. Through his music and interviews you can tell part of him had life figured out like he's been here before but because we rarely remember anything about before our life on earth we say things like "I know there is something after life. I know energy doesn't die, it just transfers but I don't know exactly what happens after death." we know but we don't know and some people are more in tune with that and can pull bits of memories from ancestors /spirits/past life's but we don't understand exactly what it is. I believe lil peep died in our reality and woke up in the next.

I remember I found this song randomly from a peep playlist, I downloaded it and I remember I used to leave home to go to school and listen to it every morning, I was walking so slow so I can listen to it not one, not two, but as many times as I can. It's like I felt pleasure, I felt Like I'm in another world, I just wanted to repeat it all the time. Idk how to explain the feeling, maybe I felt less alone. It was cold and I remember walking next to those trees and those white cute houses. After school I'd stay more there so I didn't go home and of course while going back I'd listen to it, I'd listen to it before going to bed, this song, the instrumental, the voice, the energy, it's like a "I understand you" song. I just wanted to be in peace, I just wanted to be out all the time so I could stay relaxed, not feel any fear next to my parents, not feel in a negative way, just better myself, see myself happy. And I hated being out alone and having no one with me but that was the only way. I remember one night I was so scared I couldn't sleep, i was under the covers, but took it off so I can see, and I could see my mother in the other room asking if I'm sleeping but I was so scared I pretend I was. It's so many things I can't talk or open about. But all I do is have faith in God, myself and listen to these songs. I already see my progress and I'm so proud of me, but my feelings are here, they're negative most of the time. I'm fighting those feelings and working so I can leave this hell and give myself the life I dream of, the life I deserve. With music by my side, I close my eyes and think of everything good. Like a push to keep going, this song had so much impact. I just had to write this now, I just felt like writing this.

I’m back here every fuckin night cause your music helps me from falling, Gus. I can’t thank you enough. Even though you’re not physically on this earth, you’re the one keeping me in here when at times I crave not to be. From one Gothboy to another, thank you.

Fairly certain this is my favorite of his unreleased/under appreciated music, this song hits so different that it makes me think deeper into myself about things that I need to do better at. Gus has helped me since part one, all of his music is relatable in a way that no one else can ever do and I’m so grateful to have been able to support him while he was still here 💕

"lifes in the background up and down the mountain now its back to the flat ground" Is really such a relatable lyric. You come up and do really well, then come down and do terrible, then stabilize back to the "flat ground" and it all ends up being the same. This is how life really feels
