I'll be real. And this is just criticism that Tecca's probably never gonna see. I really love his music, but it's getting repetitive tho, like he's got a formula and is now just bussing out the same song but slightly different everytime. Lately the beats all sound similar, the lyrics all sound similar, the cadence, the delivery, the message (I'm rich and I've got motion/I like this girl but I don't like her that much). There's really not much to differentiate the songs from one another, and the more he does this the more boring it kinda gets for me as a listener. At the same time it's the fact that in recent songs the lyrics are sometimes very incoherent, some of them just don't make sense and it's very clear that he's just tryna rhyme something with something so he can fill out the space and make a song. Doesn't seem like much thought goes into the process at all, like "if you can't think of something that actually correlates to what you're saying then just finish the rhyme by talking about something completely different in the same bar, even if it doesnt make sense at all, no one's gonna notice". But the main issue for me is that a lot of the songs just feel like a copy paste situation, but you wanna rewrite it a bit so its not exactly the same and it ends up being less well-executed. That's why I feel like most of this album I'm not gonna be listening to again because I've already heard it before but better, so I'm just gonna keep listening to his older music that had the flow switches, the melodies and the quotables that make them so good. Don't get me wrong, I still like everything he puts out, but it's just kinda "meh" like I'm vibing to it for the moment, but there isn't anything that makes me want to relisten or add it to my playlists, you know? It becomes kinda soulless at some point, like you're not really giving any of yourself, you're just making music to run it up which I guess is kinda apparent in his lyrics sometimes, and he knows we'll like anything he puts out so no need to make too much of an effort, just get in the stu and make a song, make an album and then another. It's like he's tryna be on a historic run of making music but a lot of the newer songs are average bc of that (imo). Am I the only one??
