Wonderful wonderful memories come flooding back just listening to this program . My dad’s favorite was Lil’ Wally , he was originally from Hegewisch IL . He & mom went often to Club 505 . I recently found an original Lil’ Wally album & had it framed to remember my dad by. My mom was from East Chicago IN (Paul Rich Orchestra) was our local Polka Band ) My Busia did not own a tv , but her radio dial was set on WJOB for Polka Music on Sundays. Many many years ago but seems like yesterday when I now dial in WJOB on Sundays for the Polka Hour. I cry because I miss them all so much and the years with them too short . But they instilled in me the love for our Polish music and heritage ( even though they never taught me the Polish language!) Thanks for this trip back in time ♥️🤍🇵🇱♥️🤍

This sure brings back happy memories. The Lil Wally sound is what got me started playing polka music under the name of the Polish Brass and we also had the pleasure of being his back-up band several times when playing in Minnesota in the 60's. I think I have owned just about every song he ever recorded on Jay Jay records. My brother also purchased Wally's drum set from him and played on them for many years. Thanks so very much for posting these great songs that are now polka classics. The Best!
