@dmvconartists18554 күн бұрын
@@DreEls I mean he definitely wrote for them in some capacity. There's even an interview of Spade-o talking about how "Gillie is down there working on lil Wayne album right now that's why he not here" and that was like Early 2002. There's definitely a few gilly/major figgas songs that become cash money songs (a few are on the undisputed soundtrack) like When will u learn became a song with killa stone & Lac
@DreEls4 күн бұрын
@@dmvconartists1855 I guarantee he wasn’t writing on the Carter, when making an album of that caliber, there are a lot of people who have influence. Like Kanye giving Jay-z the line “I’m from the murder capital, where we murder for capital” on Lucifer. That was on video, I can believe he was there helping Wayne perfect his flow. But not writing, Wayne was 20. Gillie was an elder statesman by Wayne went platinum in 99 lol. And every album his level of lyricism rises. Then the subject matter on Carter 1 was too New Orleans, shit gillie wouldn’t know about.

I didn't appreciate this song for what it really was until the last few months. This is OG lil wayne not overtly cursing or being vulgar in his music like his origins despite what he was surrounded with. No need to be overly vulgar or excessive cursing with your wordplay to get your point across. I just wish more modern rappers would try to emulate rapping like this instead of going with what works just to get a bag to get on. I love this track and still love it to this day. One of his best tracks to me. Who's wit this in 2022 and 2023...???

We need to bring back old rap. This new rap isn’t near as good, there’s a few good songs but let’s be honest. We all miss the 90’s and 00’s rap

2024 Can't believe it's been 20 Years Since this Classic Song, Video, and Album. "Tha Carter" is an Underrated "Ca$h Money" 💎💎 besides "400 Degreez". Wayne Held "Ca$h Money" Records down with this Classic him and Fresh. Mannie Fresh is an Underrated Producer and he deserves his Flowers 🌹🌹 for holding them down with his Dope 🔥🔥 Beats. So Glad I Grew up to this Era.💯 20 Years!!! Wow 😲 Time Flying 🕊️🕊️ P.S. Crazy it's been over 20 years since Magnolia "Soulja" Slim 🙏🕊️(R.I.P.)

I dig most of Lil Waynes music. Just remember that people grow up son. It'll be crazy if dude still rappin like its the year 2000.

I've never seen a rap growth spurt like THIS. 5000 degrees to Tha Carter was a lyrical jump like no other!! 🔥🔥🔥

He’s the most improved rapper ever. Like it was Kobe Bryant level elevation.
