yes but also no. The art improved, but the character expression and backgrounds (in the manga especially) got significantly worse. For me the peak (in the manga) was somewhere around the end of SS and early arracar arcs, where they had great character art, character expression, and background art. At the beginning it only had great character expression and background art, and at the end it only had phenomenal character art, but terrible character expression (they all have the same smug/calm expression in almost every panel), and almost no background art (classic bleach void background chapters in the final few arcs). The Reigei Arc, the filler that precedes this episode, is indeed filler but it's well integrated filler. It tends to build on established lore instead of conjuring whatever it wants for the plot, like the Bount or the Bokutou fillers. It also fits neatly in the timeline unlike the others. Although the Bount arc does fit fine in terms of continuity, it's not interrupting a canon arc but between two canon ones.

For people who wonder "couldn't Rukia just use a gigai?", here's an explanation: 1. Rukia is a Soul Reaper, she has to carry out her duties as a Soul Reaper, she can't be hanging around Ichigo like old times. During that time she was breaking the laws of Soul Society. 2. She was assigned to Karakura town at the beginning, but Afro-dude Zennosuke Kurumadani took over her position after Soul Society arc. 3. After losing his powers, Ichigo is just a normal human, Soul Society is strict about interacting with humans as soul reapers. 4. Also it's understandable that Soul Society would want Ichigo to have a normal life like he always wanted after what Ichigo had done for them. and a fifth point which is a SPOILER. CHINQ DONT READ THIS. Shinigamis assigned to the real world are always non seated, none of them are seated officers, vice captains or captains. Rukia during the time period of the fullbring arc was promoted to vice captain, and was probably busy with soul society fulfilling her duties as a vice captain.

All of these reasons are very weak though. People understand these "reasons". Yes, she wouldn't be able to hang around but she could still visit occasionally. It doesn't have to be "never gonna see each other again" type of deal. Things have changed since the beginning and Ichigo is a special case. Even Yama is more relaxed and shows favor towards Ichigo. Quite evident by what happens in the fullbring arc. Even more things on top of that, not to mention Urahara. Communication between SS and human world is possible too even if it's long distance and not face to face. it was overplayed a little bit for dramatic effect, accept it. Not the only thing in the ep. like that.

Plus with the strength they had normally hollows were no trouble for any of his friends plus they had a soul reaper besides him to watch the city. And to talk about Old man Yama making exceptions. He only made it due to the circumstances that unfolded in the lost agent arc. They were clearly aware of what was happening and he would have left Ichigo without powers if nothing had gone wrong. Even then Yama sent a plan B incase the worst case scenario happend

This is probably the best episode of the anime for me. Things come so full circle. Nel *is* in Hueco Mundo but she's with her friends and is doing fine. The filler between this episode and Aizen's imprisonment is called the "Regai" arc. To me, the plot is stupid but it is an excuse for really cool fights and yeah, the anime got an upscale so it makes it look even better.

I also enjoyed the 5 episode stories of Don Kanonji forming his hero team while Ichigo’s away and Kon getting more screen time. The Bount arc had a good idea and some funny moments, but just too long and the fights were a step down from the Soul Society arc. I barely remember the one with the princes, I remember there was a new short lived Captain and evil parasite Zanpakutos. There was a moment where Ichigo’s put in a dream world were his mother almost kills him and another where he, Uryu and Chad defeated their foes at the same time.

It's easy one of the best written Bleach arcs, it's just short. But can also be a strong point seeing how much it manages to accomplish in that time. It has much of importance regarding characters and character development, lore about previously unexplained powers, setting things up for the next big arc as necessary. Has a lot of great moments too. Rukia showing up, the speech to fire up Ichigo, love that. The squad pulling up was cool too.

We also get some much-needed characterization for Ichigo. I love the new style too. Although I would say it’s more like an animation improvement over an artstyle change. And this episode was special so not every part of every episode from now on is animated as good as this but the next arc is my fave and also looks generally pretty great in the anime. Better than anything before imo. Wonder how things will look in the new series. We don’t know anything yet not even the release date or the studio that is doing it. If it’s not Pierrot again it will look completely different. Also I love the slice of life elements like in this episode. We didn’t get any in the arrancar arc. This ep is one of a few eps that demonstrates the relationship between Ichigo and Rukia far better than Orihime (I adore her, but she's not for Ichigo). This is why I have been rooting for Ichiruki ship despite knowing how it ended in the manga (spoiler I guess, but I think you kinda expect that outcome). Just like the case of NaruSaku, IchiRuki has more chemistry than IchiOri, but in the end, those who have more chemistry with the MC, always lose a secondary character like Orihime or Hinata. It's ok if people hate me for it, but I stand correct for my ships.

I used to think that when I first started watching, but after a little I noticed it was very clear how Renji and Rukia felt towards each other. When she was adopted by the Kuchiki clan she was saddened by Renjis response to this revelation. She at least wanted to him to feel sad, to fight for her despite the news, but Renji didn’t want to make her feel bad, seeing as she basically had a family now, he tried to convince himself that he wasn’t as important to her. The same can be said for Ichigo and Orihime. I don’t think it’s right to say theirs is more one sided, because while he tends to not show it, Ichigo does care about her a lot and goes to great lengths to protect her and fight for her as well. They both go to extremes to protect each other and Ichigo always puts himself in between her and danger without a second thought. Also, Ichigos type of love is the one where he picks up on all types of little quirks about Orihime, over time, he started to love those things about her. Ichigo and Rukia have always had a buddy type of relationship (friends can sometimes feel infatuated with each other too), plus this is a big thing that’s always brought up in the anime, Ichigo looks like Kaien, someone who she looked up to as a mentor and friend. At the end of the day, that’s all she sees him as as well, just a friend. Ichigo and Orihime has always been end game.

I don't know if it's only me but for me this is the perfect ending for Bleach. Ichigo became a normal human without any spiritual power and Rukia came to visit him from time to time is just perfect for an ending in my opinion. Well, it's just I'm not into a story that have a chosen one main character because it just felt like the main character is destined to be a hero and for this reason I don't really like Naruto either, not One Piece tho. There's something about One Piece that made me interested in the story and how the story gonna progress and even in One Piece my favorite character is Usopp not Luffy. That's why I'm more interested in anime like World Trigger and Log Horizon where the main character is not a chosen one and not particularly strong but they use their ingenuity to solve their problem. It's just made the main character even more interesting to me. Well, I'll still gonna watch your reaction tho lmao. You should consider watching burn the witch it has great art style. Can’t wait for the blood arc war and then rukia will be awesome. Side note it’s crazy this was back in 2012 and the fullbring art style is leagues above modern anime art, at least most of them.
