Joseph had complicated relationship with his mother he did love and respect her and lisend as well as followed her advice but he also would go agenst her if he feelt it when he became emparor after his fathers death,as for Marie Theresa herself I do not think she was selfobsorbed or selfrightus as hinted in some seens but as ruler and a religus woman was focust on what she tought was the best for her subjects
