Great point especially considering that we're turning out funtionally illiterate and illnumeratic graduates who have no idea how to structure a proper sentence, nor how to understand how to balance a budget much like our infamous Prime Mistake in Ottawa. So yeah the education system needs very badly to be taken back to the basics and force the teachers to focus on teaching not just the basics of the three Rs but actual life skills that all students will need once they get out in the real world like budgeting, how to communicate effectively other than just text speak sms nonsense jibberish, etc. If you agree with that kind of curriculum being what get's taught in our schools maybe we need to start seeing who we're voting for not just in the school boards but also lobbying the education ministers in our provincial and territorial governments to make such a curriculum to be made mandatory everywhere in Canada and any teachers performances need to be closely monitored and any that stray from the curriculum or start pushing a radical 'woke' agenda lose all rights to tenure and lose their teaching credentials for all regions in Canada. That's because instead of pushing a woke agenda or other similar b/s there needs to be a focus on educating our young people to be functional adults and who are informed in how they view the world not the woke b/s but actual real life necessities plus when other nations are surpassing us on every percentile and we are losing our place in the world as a first world nation due this woke nonsense going on in our schools.

Parents allow their Children to attend a School to be Educated and not for Indoctrination , the problem is that many parents have to work long hours sometimes 3 or 4 jobs to keep up with paying the Family bills , by the time parents become aware of extreme agendas coming back through kids in their actions , words and behavior its imbedded in the kids and a nightmare for parents to deal with . @sallybrown46226 ай бұрын
DO IT!!! It's the best decision you can make for you and your child! I kid you not!! I homeschooled for the first time 15+ years ago. I pulled my kids out of public school. The first year you are terrified that you are making a mistake and set your teeth in a fierce smile telling everyone that is the best decision you ever made. By the second year you mostly believe it. By the third year you are rocking it and wonder why you ever doubted yourself!! First rule is like Miss Frizzle from magic School Bus: Get messy! Make mistakes! You will learn as much as your kids do! For math you can literally take them to the grocery store and show them how to shop, plant a garden teaches them science and geometry, go to yard sales and pick up age appropriate books. take them out camping or to grandma's house in another town for a field trip if you can't go to a museum because of expense or woke values. The internet is still the information highway although it's been throttled back some, there is a wealth of free online materials you can use. Go hard! Have fun! Most of all YOU CAN DO IT!!

Kids aren’t being taught *anything* useful. I live right beside a public school, since beginning of May the kids are outside ALL DAY. And it’s not structured outside gym class or anything like that. They’re running around and screaming Pell mell. Public school JK-8 is just babysitting. Most of the day is spent coming and going to recess and lunch. When the bell rings it takes those kids 10 minutes to wander into the building, then they have to stow backpacks, change into “inside shoes”, in winter they remove all cold weather clothes, then finally take their seats. God forbid they get chivvied to hurry the hell up, it might emotionally scar the precious delicate things! Then it’s National Anthem (which they no longer have to stand up and sing btw), morning announcements and the freaking Native affirmation recitation thingy. They literally have about 25-30 minutes of class(which includes art, gender inclusivity bs stuff, gym, etc .. all the useful stuff to get them ahead in life) before recess and the whole process is repeated in reverse. More attention is focused on the kids “discovering “ than learning the 3 R’s. Public school is a travesty of a liberal female kingdom.

My kid had to write an essay on whether Sir John A was a bad person for the decisions he made. In short, she wrote that it would be impossible to say whether he was a bad person because the decisions he was making were in a different point in history where actions we consider in appropriate today could have been considered appropriate then. She said it would be hard to gauge the personal individual motives. It would be hard to say whether he was doing the wrong things for what he thought were the right reasons without more information. I guess they should have rephrased the question and provided more information to ask if the actions were wrong, rather than speculate on his personal moral compass. I thought she understood the question asked rather well and answered it in a reasonable way. The teacher gave her a b and did not seem super pumped about the answer.
