Lilli Palmer was just so beautiful and aged with such grace.

Theirs is no example of great love. Not even once does Rex mention Lilli - in fact, he never ever spoke of or talked to her for the rest of his life. Even when informed of her death he refused any comment. He was unsympathetic, unfeeling and anything but sexy. To name himself after a dog ( that is what he said himself ) - what are you to think of somone like this? Now slaughter me, all of you fans of "Sexy Rexy" - phew !

No slaughter here. Rex was a bastard. However, to his credit, he offered to pay for all of her medical bills in then end. I had read somewhere that he wanted her back after the death of Kendall. He lies here in this interview because he refused to grant Palmer a divorce unless she promised to come back to him in then end. She lied to him saying she would and ended up writing a letter to him after Kendall died explaining that she could not go back to him. I suspect this was the biggest blow to his over blown ego ever and he held a grudge for the rest of his life.

My first ever exposure to Rex Harrison was when I was a small child and saw him in "Doctor Doolittle". I thought he was great in that movie. Lol. I'm just now finding out years later what an absolute lech he actually was.

Respondiendo a tu pregunta: pedirle=ask him casarse=get married; estrella=movie star. ¡Saludos!

What sugary tat! Read their own biographies to learn what is nearer the truth. These styles of programmes are made so sickly they are too much to stomach.

Pedirle means To Ask. Casarse means To Marry. Estrella means Star.

Too bad the trite background music in the first 5 minutes of this video dissuaded me to go further.

What language are you speaking? Are you from Spain? I'm a German and I know Latin, French and English - so I can understand most of what you write. You seemingly are of the same opinion, you must have got my meaning (I infer from your answer). What is "pedirle","casarse" and "estrella"? Those are the words I cannot trace to the Romance languages. Thanks for help -

Maybe if Palmer did what most smart women would have done and divorced his ass,Carole would all likely have never taken her life. Such a loss.
@ria16362 жыл бұрын
Rex wouldn't divorce Lilli and no guarantee he would marry Carole anyway and I suspect he would not have made her happy in the long term.

he was hardly the greatest of anything, let alone a high comedy actor. the pompous henry higgins came easy to him, for obvious reasons: it's all he ever played.

no doubt he was responsible for landis' suicide. trifling men do it once too often.
@shortandresourceful62425 жыл бұрын
Landis had been married four times and had attempted suicide at least twice before....ticking bomb that exploded in Harrison s face. Yup he was supremely self centered.

Poor girl was very vulnerable. Terrible, biased, dismissive comment on Carole 'she was a good time girl'! She was much more.
