The British interviewers really did their homework and you could see they felt actually excited to meet her. I don't watch Lilly all the time but she is someone who is quite inspiring. We all just have to do what we want to do to be a bawse.

Pineapple Princess They seemed delighted to be talking. That by the way is a question they ask us all Indian gals because they assume it's like what they see in old movies or shows showing super duper young women getting married in 'India' even though we are from 'Canada' LOL.

ok to all the people complaining in the comments about the interviewers. First, while I'm sure the hardcore fans could answer all these questions being asked this interview isn't for your benefit. You are already going to buy Lilly's book (if you can afford it) because you're a fan of the book. This Morning's audience isn't the same as Lilly's audience, its general older people, people who will probably buy the book for someone else and so the information being given is to let that audience who Lilly is. It's not that the Sally and Christian (or their team) haven't researched Lilly; they're appealing to a certain audience. Otherwise, the BBC would probably get a whole bunch of complaints asking 'who is this person and why should I care' and completely go against the purpose of Lilly coming onto This Morning: to promote her book. Moving onto the book, again Christian will know the name of Lilly's book, he said he read it. However, a technique for promoting is to get the person promoting to say the name of their product themselves. It creates what's called a 'sound byte'; something that can be cut down and used in different types of media. This is a full-length interview but that clip of Lilly saying "it's called Bawse," and her explanation of "Bawse" can be used as a sum up for later, prime time shows rather than having Christian, who is in no way related to this project say the title and that clip only has one use. Note Christian also interrupts her to ask what the book is called when she's talking about the contents, again this feeds into the majority audience who won't know what Lilly is talking about because they most likely won't be her fans so don't know the name of the book. Christian and Sally want Lilly to be the one who is the majority speaker, that's what a good interview is, so by asking Lilly Christian is able to keep her talking while informing the audience.

MultiBigbird01 nah here in the uk south-Asians tend to refer to themselves as brown too, so I think they would have actually appreciated it and seen it as relateable, especially on the BBC 😂😂😂

No the UK's not like that, Yes indians etc are referred to as asian (by none brown people) but other indians would just say brown. Theres no right or wrong in saying Asian or brown.

@fenellalamle60817 жыл бұрын
It's a sound-byte. Basically it's a way of promoting the book as it's better hearing it from the creator, he knew what it was called he was just doing a common interview technique

I started watching her because of her background. Being Pakistani, of course there are many similarities between our cultures, so that really mader her videos interesting for me, even if I am nearing 40 now. I enjoyed her humour so much and I like her personality, so I enjoy more of her work too. She has a very positive influence on the youth because she is a decent person and that makes her a great example for all. Great to see someone with a desi background up there.
