Lilly Teaching Sally Ditzel's choreography Masar

A wonderful powerful dance to 'Masar' from Palestinian brothers Le Trio Joubran. I love the way the music slowly builds in intensity. 'Masar' is on a CD called MAJAZ.
IMPORTANT NOTE : Sally choreographed the dance with straight arms as you come into the centre at the beginning, not a W hold as taught in my video.
NB - I dance the first part just 3 times at the beginning, to avoid starting on the very first note of the music, then after that it's always 4 times.

Nice video Lilly. In my notes from Sally, she has the arms kept straight as they rise and fall during the first part, no bent elbows. Also, I made a version of the music with a 16 count intro if you would like to have it. 🌞

Hi Kevin, If you look at my notes with this video you'll see that I've mentioned the arms Sally originally choreographed to the dance. At a workshop with Sally I discussed the change with her, explaining that having taught it many times in my groups, I had found that not all dancers could hold straight arms, and with the circle then resulting in different hand holds, I felt the powerful feeling of the dance was lost. Sally is absolutely fine with me teaching Masar with a W hold, and as the video was made primarily for my dancers during lockdown, I taught it with the W hold. Hope that explains it! and YES please to having the version of music you've made! Lilly
