Ronnie talked in such a humble way about his accomplishments in snooker. He may try to down play things a bit, but there is not one bit of doubt in my mind that he IS the GOAT!!! I am certainly hoping he can win one more world title and make one more 147 at The Crucible. Cheers Ronnie. 👍❤

I have watched him play for over 20 years and I can tell you that he changes his attitude daily. One day he’s humble, the next he’s arrogant. He has been awful in interviews and incredibly disrespectful (the china interview a number of years back). When he’s in a good mood, he’s very likeable but most of the time he’s difficult.

He’s not humble when he asked what the 147 prize money is when he’s pitted one black. Or when he’s says the players now are no good, or when he shakes hands mid match, or when he has an excuse every time he loses instead of admitting he’s been beat, or when he says he just plays now to pay his kids school fees.

Stayed up till 3 AM in India... I had my eyes closed before every shot in those 3 frames, and the sound of pots would inform me that his breaks were continuing. One of the most memorable sporting events in my life.

Agree with Ronnie that he's 2/3 out of 10 (which will beat most people), or 10/10. At 10/10, Ronnie is better than anyone, and is something to behold. Love watching him play, will be a while before there's another like him. One of the most natural sportsman I've seen, while I like watching him, my overriding hope is that he's happy. Hope I can watch him for many years.

Ronnie IS the greatest snooker player of all time! His overall record is unmatched, more major titles than anyone else, highest number of century breaks (by a country mile) and maximum breaks, his incredible longevity, his phenomenal cueing and potting skills all done at blinding speed (right or left handed). He’s an entertainer, has unbelievable charisma, and even though he’s done some forbidden things during his career, he is the absolute definition of a snooker genius! No question about it, the majority of snooker fans all over the world watch the game mainly BECAUSE of Ronnie!

Funny how you don't mention 2014 wsc final when O'Sullivan had Selby on a plate for a third straight title and he blew it in a spectacular fashion... A match in which Selby didn't record a century until the last two frames of the match or so.

I'm a Stephen Hendry fan down to my bones and always hated Ronnie. I was 10 when Hendry won his first title and he was my absolute hero! I disliked Ronnie so much because he was Hendry's nemesis and only player ever to really challenge him. I stumbled upon those two KZbin videos between them during lockdown and was blown away. I'd always just assumed that they hated each other. It was fascinating to see that they are genuinely good friends now and hold nothing but huge respect and admiration for one another. It's amazing to see this from the two greatest players ever in the sport. I love that they both genuinely regard the other as being the greatest too.

Ronnie is more of a snooker legend than Steve Davis or Stephen Hendry, even though he's won less than them. He is a snooker genius and no one would say that about Davis or Hendry. This guy is special. He brought something to the game never seen in the modern era, swapping from left to right hand whenever he wanted, doing insane shots no one else would dare try and pulling them off, doing a 147 in 4 mins 20 secs, almost running around the table to get it done in the fastest time... he has nerves of steel. If you asked any snooker fan that's 45+ years old (that has seen Davis and Hendry) who is the best they have ever seen - not a single one of them won't say... it's Ronnie O'Sullivan, hands down.

I used to be a support worker and met Ronnie's Dad in jail. He was a lovely dude and started telling me about how people end up in addiction. I said to him, "I am a an addiction specialist so you are telling granny how to suck eggs". He laughed...and so did I.

Such an open person and really the world's greatest player. Some people disrespect him because of some minor antics that have occurred, but I think those are just intolerant arse-holes. If people would listen to him and understand that he has some internal struggles (like everyone, andhe's had more than many), they should cut him and everyone else a bit of slack. No one's perfect.

I think what makes a person the GOAT is they are able to tackle issues, perform and beat records under the circumstances. I grew up watching davis and henry and they were great. The test is if both davis and henry had the same life experience as ronnie would they be successful? Vice versa if ronnie had Henry's or Davies lifestyle would he be more successful? Ronnie is a natural talent that snooker has ever seen and there is no denying.

What makes Ronnie different from everyone else is the way he one his titles. Reardon dominated the 70s and Davis and Hendry the 80s and 90s respectively. Previously others had, had their glory and gradually drifted down the rankings. Ronnie was different in the amount of times he made comebacks. I'm convinced he still has at least another World title in him, maybe more than one. What an achievement it would be if he could win more titles. A truly amazing player.

i played, like ronnie, to a high standard, mine was football, i played great, did well, not quite pro, but my father was there for every match, when he was not there, on a rare occasion, i coud not play for toffee. i remember playing youth cup final, my father had to work, i had a nightmare game, we were 3.0 down half time, my father turned up for the second half, the manager told my father, thank god your here, sean having bad game, as soon as i saw my father, my game raised, heard him shouting, my game went to next level, we won 4.3,

Like footballers most snooker players are finished by their mid 30's so for Ronnie to still be up there shows how special he is. An 80% Ronnie is still good enough to win finals.
