Just like in “Once Upon A Time In Hollywood” If the size differential is great enough eventually it will neutralize skill, You could be the best technical fighter in the world have great fundamentals footwork grappling striking submissions and defense but if someone Floyd Mayweathers size fought someone Brock Lesnars size all the skill in the world wouldn’t be able to compensate. That’s why firearms exist. They equalize everything

@@cowboyschad5x778 Yeah, both of my "gentle giant" sons are each 6'10" & 270lbs, and they were very tall as kids. Even in elementary school all the bullies targeted them bc of their size. They're now 28 & 40 years old and they hate going out where there's drinking bc that amplifies the bullies. Even when they're trying to hide in a corner, the smallest, drunkest guys will find them & target them! My youngest tried playing flag football in Middle School but came home the first week crying bc he'd "hurt someone". He said, "Mom, all I did was stand there & he just ran into me!". He quit that day. All they have to do NOW is *"just stand there"!* They're NEVER the aggressor, so they're not worried about someone being armed, but I AM. Luckily, they're smart, so they avoid conflicts & can de-escalate situations bc of all their experience.

Yes. Sometimes though you might want to be able to defend yourself without going to prison, Guns will keep you alive but if you use it against aggressive diversity the justice system will make you pay, If you can win with your hands and avoid having to squeeze a trigger you’d be better off in a lot of cases. It’s better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it though

Steven Seagal once tried to put Mr. Perfect, who was not expecting it therefor not ready to defend himself, in an Aikido wrist lock, Hennig quickly freed himself and put Seagal in a standing armlock, Seagal went to one knee, winced in pain and gave up. Later on Mr. Perfect apologized to Seagal, but not without wishing him greetings from Jude Gene LeBell.

The thing is... is that none of these martial arts would be a problem if its practitioners weren't trying to sell you its bullshit as practical. Tai-Chi, Taekwondo, Kung-Fu, and Karate all deserve to be called Martial Arts. They are all rooted in history and each have their uses and are very beautiful, Kung Fu especially. Just never let anyone tell you that they will save you in a fight. Learn to kickbox, a bit of wrestling, and Jiu-Jitsu.
@benitofranklyn4237

Taekwondo is not like totally fake, it's just not the best technique, but you train punching and kicking. Karate and Taekwondo are usually still better than Kung Fu and Aikido. For Kids BJJ is probably the best, since you basically learn schoolyard fighting, you learn how to take someone down and hold them there. And you learn headlock escapes, which is the most important technique in childhood.

Why has no charlatan yet come out to claim that you can "buff" yourself spiritually. Like you still need to fight but now because you are chi empowered you got bonus damage +50%. It'd be much more effective of a scam than to claim you can shoot rays of chi. Would be much harder to debunk, just say that "yeah ofc you lost you need to level up your fight skills and buff skills simply put"

Go look at Jackie Chan’s old movies. The fights are very believable with some extra flash and flair. I’m convinced you don’t see fights like in Gorgeous (1999) in the ufc because the fighters just aren’t skilled enough! Nobody’s skilled enough to fight like that without choreography, but the strikes and footwork and parries/head movement all look excellent! Much better than modern action movies with shaky cameras! Chan couldn’t have filmed those scenes without using real fighters!

I trained in taekwondo when I was younger, classes were free(if you memorized a bible verse) at the church taught by a 3 time world kickboxing champion(at the time). He would allow full contact sparing if you sparred him first and I watch some people ring each others bell. He asked me to hit him because bring in first grade I was afraid to hit others, I broke a kids nose in kindergarten that bullied me. I bloodied the taekwondo guys lip and it scared me even more. He eventually invited me to his mansion and he had a room wall to wall covered in martial arts weapons. He asked me to pick one and trained me in it. So I guess taekwondo can be bs, but it you translate the training into actual fighting it can be helpful for learning reactions for fights. The dance moves they have you perform for the belt levels are meant to train muscle memory for that purpose.

Once I became a level 768 Chi Bomb Master in the Yellow Bamboo, I found I was putting myself in dangerous situations, just to justify fighting. The violence and power becomes addictive. I once negotiated peace between the Bloods and the Crips, so that I could convince them to join forces, just to fight their unified force.. while my wife was at home, sleeping with them. That is the dark side of chi power that they don't tell you about in the demonstration videos.

To answer the TaeKwonDo question seriously: It came about to teach a rabble of unarmed borderline retarded peasants how to defend themselves. The main thing it teaches you is how to be taught. Very discipline oriented, great for children. It's also a component of the Korean military for the same reason. It's a great way to take someone with no discipline, or even basic physicality, and make them into a cookie cutter lv 1 NPC. Then you can go from there teaching them real skills. Just like Joe Rogan, people who are serious about martial arts go on to learn a different style for grappling and striking, which TKD almost completely ignores. Another reason TKD is everywhere is because of the Korean war. South Korea was basically an American colony, so tons of people got the opportunity to come to the USA. Most "Chinese" restaurants are actually Vietnamese or Korean. And most martial arts studios are Korean, at least in my area.

The first few kicks are legitimately practical; but walking in circles and posing aggressively while counting to ten in Korean is kinda goofy, and pretty much all of the black-belt attacks resemble gymnastics more than any kind of self-defence. But if for whatever reason you really want to kick someone in the head: Tae-Kwon-Doe has got you covered. 👍

Philipinos, chinese, all sorts of asians run chinese or japanese restaurants but whatever kind of restaurant it is its typically a different country of origin the people running it are from. First chinese resturaunt in my town was run by a chinese family, they would travel to china once a year and bring my family gifts. I would get grocery bags full of Chinese candy every time. They went out of buisness when the town got larger though and one of the daughters married a laotian man and they opened a japanese restaurant/ sushi bar

Yeah its a great tool and will make your kicks fucking nasty but you should also learn other martial arts. Luckily my master also taught ju-jitsu and mauy tai and encouraged us to try them as well. He had boxing instructors on staff as well as another ju-jitsu guy who just did that. Also brought in a capoeira instructor once as a special class and same with a krav maga person. So I always knew tae kwon do wasn't the greatest simulation of real fighting but at the same time if you can land a good back kick on someone you'll put them down. Should just also know ground defense, submissions, good punching and knees and elbows.

I can agree that Taw Kwon Do points sparring is bull, either you go for points or kick the other guy in the groin hard enough he can’t fight back and pray the refs don’t notice. My balls still hurt.

The entire reason why I deliberately avoid causing any trouble whatsoever isn't because everyone carries a gun, it's because 90% of the MMA fighters I've met are skinny, pale skinned, glasses wearing zoomers that are completely unassuming. Getting shot by a crazy person is whatever, but getting pinned down and having your ass handed to you by someone half your size is next level emasculating

Nick's point about kids combat sports is on point. Watch some of these videos online of like middle school wresting. Some of these kids will just pile drive a kid and paralyze them while the hung over volunteer ref does nothing to stop it. And then the mom of the injured kid will get upset and put online as a "Karen."

One thing people don't get is that these chi martial arts are a variant of a hypnotic cult. The people falling over due to chi-powers are not paid actors, they actually just believe so strongly that the chi-powers work, that when they are attacked by chi-powers they make themselves fall over without realizing that they are doing it. And if you are a master and see this happen consistently, you may end up buying your own con and believing that you truly do have these powers. This con only works because the people being affected by chi actually believe that they are. That's also why you will see some clips of the master's own students being unaffected by the chi, you should be wondering why the master would practice and fail chi in front of his students on someone which wouldn't happen if his students were paid actors, what is actually happening is that sometimes the master makes a mistake and accepts a student who is of the 20% of our population who is very resistant to hypnosis. For those unaware, hypnosis is not a metaphysical concept. It's a physical and scientifically proven phenomenon of how we can enter a state where we are more open to accepting a suggestion as a belief, and a belief as our reality, and how that affects how we feel and act.

Everybody has a plan until they get hit in the mouth. Then it’s your conditioning that determines your response. If you haven’t been conditioned to aggress your attacker, you likely won’t. Most men will freeze or hesitate at least. That’s why real training requires conditioning. Reactions have to be based in muscle memory so even as the brain is reeling the body is moving. That’s one of the reasons why real fighters train so much for a fight.
