You guys have to pay attention to the Scenery. Her name, Dongbaek is named after korean short story, The Camellias(동백꽃, dongbaekkkot), by Gim Yujeong(he was also a member of The Circle of Nine, like Dongrang, Gubo, Yi Sang). The actual camellia flower is red, and the yellow camellia flower in the book is the dialect of Linda obtusiloba. Imagine the scenery of a rural village in Korea in the past. A small stream flows and yellow flower trees are in full bloom on every gray rock. The spring sunshine comes down from the sky and the mountains are clolorful in the distance. Everywhere I go, yellow flowers grow abundantly and have a fragrant scent.

What I absolutely love about this fight is not just the mechanics it has, like the "you can have 7 sinners" or the whole entrapment thing or the duel, no, it's that Yi Sang is actually really good for this fight since she has a lot of high base power, but low coin power moves, which is exactly what Yi Sang has as blade Lineage or 7 section. Hell, i've seen people do it with his base ID, which makes me love this fight even more!

Given how the arena transforms to better suit Dongbaek's manifested EGO, I imagine it sort of represents her innermost desire to return to the simpler joyous times of pure discovery she experienced at the Nine - or, at least, create the environment for others to experience it by demolishing a huge portion of technological progress. While Yi Sang is wandering aimlessly in the present, and Dongrang is walking mercilessly towards the future... Dongbaek is hopelessly yearning for the past.

Having one Sinner save the others from being trapped in the flowers by winning a duel was amazing. Instantly took me back to the first time I saw Snow Queen in Lobotomy Corporation and learned about its gimmick. Definitely plays off of the story too on how Spring blooms after she was defeated in the duel. Even further if Yi Sang wins everyone gets buffed like the Snow Queen duel too. Playing Base Yi Sang and just hitting her with two EGO's during the duel is the most satisfiying thing in the game. I do find it odd that she isn't the final boss for the chapter as a whole, but we will see next week.

Dongbaek is someone who shared Yi Sang’s grief, and isn’t a source of his torment, so isn’t the final boss. I suspect that will be Dongrang somehow.

honestly, all of the usually excrutiating story bosses are usually walks in the park when you find them in the MD, because: 1. you start at max sanity. one of the hardest parts is usually getting your SP up from 0 when you don't have that good of a chance at winning clashes 2. abhorrent amount of EGO gifts. self explanatory 3. max level. better level means better clashes.

I hated this boss took me so long to defeat each time my whole party got bloomed and caused instant loss due to a single clash loss not to mention the sanity drain in this fight either everything goes right or everything goes wrong the dongrang fight was actually pretty fun even though it had the same gimmick maybe its that you didnt have your own sinners fighting you after the stagger was over and how fun it was to both manage fighting the farmwatch himself and the trees of ambition

Must say. The moment the music started playing, the beautiful ambience appeared and all of that, it was insanely beautiful. The song itself is so... grandiose. In another more personal note, I loved using LCB Yi Sang in this. He's pretty weak, and was the least damaging character in this fight, HOWEVER the moment Dongbaek starts a duel against Yi Sang, Seeing how anything I try is Hopeless, then needing to use Yi Sang's EGO twice just to probably be able to win the clash. Damn it was a powerful moment. Even if he just did literally 1 damage each time, it was so freaking epic. God I'm loving this chapter (lore/boss-wise, the filler levels are awful)

Dongbaek fights for the Technology Liberation Army, which strives to turn the world back into a place where humanity wasn't afflicted by the evils of overreliance in technology. However, i feel as if Dongbaek herself isnt really aiming for a world without technology, but rather a return to the happier moments of her life, where she was able to work with Yi Sang and the other members of the league of nine. i think that the nostalgia that emanates from this song represents these two aspects of Dongbaek's character. gone too soon :(

I have just been inducted into Limbus via this boss. I had wildly underleveled IDs, but they were some of the strongest in the game, such as Wildcliff, Dawnclair, W-Ryoshu, etc... I thought I experienced peak with Kromer. I thought I was enlightened. It wasn't until this fight kicked my ass, forced me to learn the power of reading, and placed the emotional weight of Yi Sang's past relationships right on my shoulders *all while* having this epic song that I finally realized Project Moon's incredible capabilities. Shoutouts to Wildcliff for winning the Duel phase, btw.

It depends on who clashes with the actual attack instead of hitting her unopposed. As long as your character is faster than her you can redirect her attack to clash with the person you want her to duel by selecting their attack last.

If I had to give an example, assuming her speed is 3 and you're using three characters (ex. Heathcliff, yi sang, don) who have 4, 4, 3 speed respectively. Heathcliff will automatically clash with her attack if you select his skill last and Don's attack will be unopposed because it's the same speed as dobgbaek, but if you want yi sang to duel with dongbaek you'll have to either reselect his skill or use it after selecting Heathcliff's skill to redirect the clash.

Finally beaten her and can continue the effing story now. It was frustrating losing bc of the random chances (like how tf did she rolls all heads with 0 sanity while my sinners who has more than 0 didn't) but after understanding her battle more it actually turns into a fun experience. Also can never forget the feeling where she changed the scenery, like I was frozen solid for 5 minutes or more just to admire the scenery, mood and the music. It really captures the feelings of reminisce of the past and the beauty of it all that once past.

This is the first fight that made me pay actual attention to abnormality fights and actually think. The whole time, I was brute forcing my way through alot of fights and this one actively forced me to be strategic with the clashes and the mechanics. I was stuck on this one for days because the RNG on who got caught in the final phase really did me in. I love the soundtrack, but never again do I want to deal with something like this.

Oh boy...i got news for you, you will be dealing with this often and the next canto has a vertical wall of a difficulty spike... I recommend bringing a lot of blunt for that particular fight and looking up on how to deal with it, since i only managed to get through with that with luck

@@yaeldejesusavilestorres63 well this is one of those really hard fights, for me after this there isnt anything too hard in the story, other modes are another type of ball game entirely But yeah for ricardo best bring two or three sinners instead and give the first slot to the sinner who has the most blunt damage...otherwise this fight will be very much a uphill struggle
