Heroes dont win in this world. Even if they allegedly exist, they functionally dont. Remorse in all forms will be removed from human thoughts and actions. No one likes a hero, people like strength and value not weakling kindness. Through the wounds in their brain one can live through others, its a lot cheaper and painless than doing it through investing in their existance. Breaking someone with manipulation and abuse can disarm them better than any mutual loyalty.

and yet there shall always be a beacon of hope in the distance, like a lighthouse towering above a treacherous sea. there might not be many whom one could call “heroes” nor are they always triumphant or able to change the status quo and often times they can be misguided but they DO exist you just need to know where to look, like a humble toymaker who chose his career solely because he enjoyed seeing children smile or a fixer who gave her life fighting against impossible odds merely to protect those she cared about and even a eccentric bloodfiend who believed in a brilliant dream of coexistence with humanity while he was not successful in his goals and eventually gave up his dream he did manage to pass that dream unto someone else to take things from where he left off no matter how impossible it may seem at a glance. cruelty and villainy are a dime a dozen, kindness and empathy that is something with true value. though they may not be seen nor may their names be remembered heroes do exist you just need to know where to look… Indonitable human spirit go brrrrrr

thankfully the point of the impossible dream is to strive for the greater good even if its more than impossible, since trying and failing horribly for the right thing is still better than letting evil go uncontested, atleast to don quixote

I dont know what quote this is from, but i would like to add that people do value "kindness", they just dont bother with what kindness actually is, and only care that someone says "kind things".
