걸그룹 서바이벌 프로그램 멤버들로 구성된 드림팀 '라임라잇(LIMELIGHT)'이 K팝씬에 첫 발을 내딛는다. 라임라잇은 Mnet '걸스플래닛999 : 소녀대전'을 통해 얼굴을 알린 이토 미유와 MBC '방과후 설렘'의 막강 보컬리스트로 주목받은 김수혜, 그리고 동양적인 비주얼과 퍼포먼스로 주목받는 실력파 연습생 가은 등으로 구성된 걸그룹이다.
'세상의 주목을 받다'라는 의미의 팀명답게 완벽한 팀워크와 최고의 퍼포먼스를 통해 K팝씬을 리드하겠다는 정체성을 담았다. 라임라잇은 멤버의 영입이 자유롭고 멤버 수에도 제한이 없는 '확장형 걸그룹'을 목표로 하는 만큼, 호기심을 자극하는 미래형 걸그룹 형태를 지향한다. 합류를 확정지은 이토 미유, 김수혜, 가은의 3인 체제로 9월29일 프리 데뷔 활동을 시작한 뒤 멤버들에 대한 다양한 조합과 변주를 통해 늘 새로운 성장스토리를 전달하겠단 계획이다.
이러한 소통과 공감은 팀의 성장사를 지켜보는 데 있어 높은 몰입도를 전달할 것이다. 시작부터 팬들과 완벽한 교감을 꿈꾸는 라임라잇의 출사표이기도 하다.
Z세대로 구성된 라임라잇은 프리 데뷔앨범을 통해 순수하고 매력적인 판타지를 전달한다. 사랑에 빠진 소녀들의 알 수 없는 감정처럼, 신비롭고 투명한 이미지와 음악, 퍼포먼스, 영상을 통해 호기심을 자극한다. 타이틀곡과 수록곡에 걸쳐 무려 8편의 비디오 컨텐츠를 선보이는 라임라잇은 이를 통해 라임라잇만의 세계를 각인시키겠다는 각오다.
타이틀곡 'STARLIGHT'은 세상을 향해 노크하는 라임라잇의 첫 포부를 담은 곡으로, 사랑에 빠진 소녀의 마음을 우주에서 뿜어낸 신비로운 빛으로 표현한 팝 댄스곡이다. 멤버들의 청량한 에너지와 리드미컬한 사운드는 극적인 감동을 전달하고, 간절하면서도 서정적인 노랫말은 소녀들의 판타지를 대변한다. 감각적인 신스 라인과 점점 더 고조되는 곡의 구성과 함께, 감정을 솔직하면서도 담당하게 표현하는 탁월한 보컬 운용으로 팀워크를 강조한 트랙이다. 특히 아이즈원의 'FIESTA' '비올레타' 등을 작업한 김승수, 최현준이 프로듀싱을, 작사가 서지음이 노랫말을 맡아 완성도를 높였다.
세상과 소통하는 소녀들의 이미지는 뮤직비디오를 통해 더욱 구체화된다. 뮤직비디오는 세상의 곳곳에서 활약하는 소녀들의 매력을 포착해 전달한다. 3명의 캐릭터가 각자 다른 공간에서 교감을 통해 서로를 이해하고 결국 하나의 팀을 이룬다는 구성이다. 빠르게 전개되는 필름은 멤버들 각자의 캐릭터와 라임라잇의 매력을 온전히 느끼기에 충분하다.
한일 멤버로 구성된 멤버들의 이력도 화려하다. 이토 미유는 모델 및 SNS 활동을 통해 일본 Z세대들의 지지를 받아온 인물로, 도쿄 걸즈 오디션 2018 Popteen상과 up PLUS상, ABEMA TV상을 수상했고, 일본 아티스트들의 뮤직비디오에도 출연한 바 있다. 김수혜는 방송 당시 맑고 깨끗한 보컬로 강한 인상을 남겼고, 데뷔 전부터 탁월한 퍼포먼스 능력을 인정받은 연습생 가은은 매거진 모델로 활약하는 등 주목을 받아왔다.
라임라잇의 데뷔 앨범에는 K팝 드림팀이 대거 참여했다. 타이틀곡 'STARLIGHT'을 작업한 김승수, 최현준, 서지음을 비롯해 빅뱅, 2NE1, 자이언티 등 YG아티스트의 여러 곡을 프로듀싱한 서원진, 그리고 씨스타의 '나혼자' 송하예의 ‘니소식‘등 히트곡을 작업한 똘아이박 등이 크레딧에 이름을 올렸다. 또한 엠넷 '스트릿 맨 파이터'에서 활약 중인 YGX의 도우가 퍼포먼스를 맡아 강렬하고 인상적인 라임라잇의 에너지를 완성시켰다.
