not being rude here, I promise, just adding a fact. While Yorichii was, in fact, not the first demon slayer to exist. He is the first one to create a breathing style. (This part is known to those who watch or read Demon Slayer.) He also taught the current strongest slayers, breathing styles, that then branched into the current styles known today in the Demon Slayer Corps.

I don't understand why people think yoriichi was the first demon slayer? The literal start of his life carrying a katana was because he met a demon slayer after his wife was killed. We also know that the demon slayer that first met yoriichi was also a hashira. The flame hashira. A rengoku ❤

Nope they had demon slayers. A ancestor of the rengoku family found yoriichi sitting by his dead wife and unborn child. Rengoku then had yoriichi do a proper burial for her so he could grieve and move on. And rengoku told him it was most likely a demon that killed her. After all that he became a demon slayer and met a few others as well. That is when he helped them to learn his sun breathing, but none of them were strong enough and so other breathings were created. And they were hashira and even had a master, an ancestor of the ubayashiki family (I probably butcher the spelling there )

For anyone confused, Yorichii was not the first demon slayer, there were demon slayers before hand as shown because a Rengoku ancestor helped Yorichii become a demon slayer but they didn’t have breathing styles yet.

Their reaction to Moon Breathing by Michikatsu (Kokushibo) was everything. They always deal with demons who uses their blood demon arts power but not a former hashira who can cause havoc if not stopped. Plus we always know that the sun's opposite is the moon which is a very good detail since Michikatsu and Yoriichi are twins

Kamado descendants change sun breathing into a dance to passed it down.. What tanjiro does is Hinokami Karura which a dance passed down by his families.. Sun breathing is not Hinokami karura

Love breathing is branched off of flame breathing because Rengoku was mitsuri's teacher and I think love breathing is called what it is because love is a feeling you can recognize from the heat coming from your body and since mitsuri didn't do flame breathing right she created a new style and named it after (like every other style) how it felt Also this is coming from a person who can't read the manga

I love the concept of hashiras reacting to the in's and out's of every breathing-- But the video used is highly inaccurate. There are SEVERAL mistakes when talking about moon breathing, and the misconceptions about sun breathing aren't far behind.

However, I do agree that the video got a lot wrong and I’ll highlight two misconceptions about Moon Breathing The blades aren’t as chaotic as people think, the chaotic part is the extra blades layering the original made from Koku’s blood demon art. Moon breathing only has 6 or 7 forms naturally, the extra forms are only useable by Koku with his transformed katana

The video has a couple of misinformations. Moon breathing isn’t a breathing style for demons. Mitchikatsu created it when he joined the demon slayer corp based on his brother’s sun breathing. Both styles were lost in time because both brothers couldn’t find any successor capable of learning and mastering their style. But they didn’t disappear as Yorichii showed to Tanjiro’s ancestor, Sumeyoshi who passed it down in his family although under a different name since he never learned the actual name. Mitchikatsu however became a demon so he just kept perfecting his style with his limitless lifespan, combining it with his newfound abilities and notably his blood demon art which made it much more powerful. No other demon can use the current forms of moon breathing they are only possible because of Kokushibo’s blood demon art. They could probably learn the original version that he used as a human if they wanted to but it’s nowhere near as powerful as the current version even tho it was already the second strongest style.
