Actually its not. Lucy was basically a theoretical movie that had nothing to do with taking a pill.the whole movie wasn't necessarily about her it was about the risk and danger of a human unlocking the brains full capacity. Limitless was just a movie where u get super smart from a pill .thats far from the objective of lucy

I love this movie, but it ignores the simple concept of compound interest. Bradley Cooper's character quintuples his money every day on the stock market, yet he needs a loan shark to make enough profit? This is silly. Before he found the loan shark, he had $10,000. Had he just continued to quintuple his money every day without borrowing money from the loan shark, his $10,000 would had become 10 million dollars in just six days. On the tenth day, he would have 2.6 billion dollars. On the fifteenth day, he would have 2.6 trillion dollars. On the twentieth day, he would 687 trillion dollars. All this without borrowing money from a loan shark who later tries to murder him.

@@mikemagnus9447 Yes... they also made the point that he was becoming sort of an adrenaline junky, addicted to risk. Like when he jumped off that cliff into the sea! Maybe the idea of waiting an additional two or three days to become a millionaire was just too much, he just had to do it IMMEDIATELY, and the more riskiness the better.

You are correct and I noticed that too. They had to find a way to get a dark character to enter the drama - this was not the best way but you just have to overlook it.

I didn't knew about this movie , I saw Lucy 4 months ago , then I saw Limitless today "on Bluray" I can say that this movie is more realistic and more obvious than Lucy These pills does not give you supernatural powers like lucy does. Let me ask you a question , If you had a chance to eat only one pill in your life , when would you take it ?

I think a better explanation was that the pill gives the user the ability to access distant memories instantly and focus quickly and intensely Because the “use 100% of your brain” stuff is annoying

You know what the funny thing is.... That 10% thing is just a saying that became so populaire that people stopped wondering where it came from. It originated from a scientist who wanted to say people were stupid. Hence you only use 10% of your brain We actually almost always use our brain to our full potential Even though stimuluting the brain in a certain way could perhaps make you smarter your smarts depend more on the connections in your brain For i dont have enough of those in some area's which makes me terrible at picking up motoric movements Like dancing swimming bycicling driving and so on

We use the 10% potential of our brain. We use the whole brain yes but for the full potential processing power no that is what the movie meant in terms of 10%. Could be true but no research has be found in proving this thats credible and cited. There are performance enhancing pills for your brain like Ritalin but only for a short while.

I know my comment is too late for this movie. But I am writing this after watching the movie for the 4th or maybe 5th time. At first I also thought this movie was not doing justice to the concept. It felt like the movie could have been more. I also ( like everyone) thought that why Edward Morra could not see better and had to go through some trouble that he could have avoided? It is actually answered in the movie. The pill unlocks the brain and lets you access 100% of it. But there is two aspects to our brain One is accessing to the memory, that is already there. and another is learning new stuff. and it all boils down to this, If you are focused at a certain thing and want to work it out the brain will help you 100% from your already existing memory. As it is said in the movie it works better if you are already a smart person. But as we know Edward was not. it doesn't turns everyone to the same person instantly who takes the pills. It is clearly shown in the movie he was getting used to the pill and how he wants his life to turn out. in the beginning he was focused more with his breakup, patching up, his book etc... Then he started to plan more ahead as he starts to focus on other stuff. Being him a planner to start with he would have adapted with the pill much better. And then there is the learning process. He had to learn a lot too before he could make a perfect plan. The pill changes the person for sure but with time and with the person's will to change. Everyone's wish is not the same. But who knows... maybe down the road everyone will turn out as a cold person once they start to see the pattern of life. And it may be chaotic ... who knows? And that's the beauty of the film. It ends in a perfect time and leaves us with our imagination. After all it's just a fantasy movie. No fun if they show you everything right? I say, this is highly underrated movie. I loved the whole concept and how the plot turns out. It wasn't bad. and what to say, the actors are crazy good in this film. Especially Bradley Cooper. I give it 9/10. To me This film was way better than the movie "Lucy".

If I would be given such a pill I'd use it to finally turn the basic story ideas that I'm having into actually well written stories. Because as I am now I can't write an even halfwise decent story even if the basic idea is good, so such a pill would be really a huge help.^^

Although we do in fact use 100% of our brain already, we don't necessarily have access to all of it at all times. While day- to-day we use the conscious part of our brain, our sub-conscious mind is something we only really have access to while we're sleeping, and it is our sub-conscious mind which is much larger in capacity as it records and holds the memory of everything that you have experienced even if you weren't consciously aware of it. This could then be the 80% of "untapped" brain.

@mik3p0wer MRI and EKGs measure the electrical impulses in the brain. if a neuron is stimulated (IE its in use) it will be glowing like a christmas tree Example: if you are thinking very hard about a math problem the part of the brain that deals with math and the part of the brain where you stored you math related memories will start activating with electrical surges. the MRI picks up that electrical activity and shows it on a color coded picture of the brain

Really enjoyed it, I was watching for subtext and think it's really about the positive and negative effects of drugs. Be it recreational, performance enhancement or medication all drugs have certain benefits and drawbacks. In the end he's a 50 steps ahead because he's learnt everything he can from the drug and got clean, whereas the de Niro is stuck in old thinking - basically still addicted to NZT.

I would start learning things. Being able to understand anything so easily (mentally and phisically) is an amazing super power. I would start learning languages, art, math, and basically everything. I would be better than anyone at everything. With that knowledge I'd start gaining power, and get to the point in which i can do whatever I want with full control of the world. Nobody could stop me, because I will have the wits, charm and strength (I would also improve myself phisically of course, which is really easy now that I know how to train myself and how to not think about the pain) to stop anyone in my way.

I liked the movie and I really liked how they visually show the effect of the pill (the whole screen getting brighter), but a few things bugged me. First, when the woman takes the pill and decides the best course of action to get rid of the guy chasing her is hitting him with a small child wearing ice skates... that was way too goofy. And at the end, the lesson is pretty much "drugs are the answer!". I liked the movie, but a few details really annoyed me

The thing you need to realize is that the pill didnt change personality. He wasnt the kind of person hell bent on solving any of these problems or creating something beneficial to society. The whole point was that he wanted to turn his life around and become something. That was the reason he took the pill. I mean look at the mobster who took it, he didnt try to suddenly solve the problems of the universe, he was just far smarter. Just because you can use 100% doesnt mean ull think universally.

One of the best movies I ever saw. The only thing I didn't like was that they didn't put the "Power" song. It was perfect on the trailer and it would be perfect in the movie. I has this dramatic music that says about power and the "World is ours" stuff, that would be very fit. The music they had was fine, but lets say when he first starts with the hallucinations and stuff you can't put a soft music background, but put "Power" and the viewer might even feel sorry for the guy. Like in the trailer.

He was technically killed by Lelouch as his actions caused him to disappear. Also the Code doesn't activate until the Geass user dies. This was shown by Charles when he shot himself after killing V.V. So this explains why Lelouch was able to use his Geass until he 'died'. There is also the hints later on when he passed memories on to Nunnally. I'm going to stop btw. This isn't the place to spoil stuff to others lol. Well, mostly because I'm stubborn with this, haha.

one point, we only CONSCIOUSLY use 10%, which is really just memory and new skills, the other 90% is used to unconscious things like reactions, rote memory, balance, unconscious body things and such, so unlocking the other 90% would essentially allow you to completely control you heart, balance, digestion, growth, emotions, and possibly intelligence, but i think that saying we only us 10& get confused in that its only a conscious 10%.

This film was a classic 'concept movie', with a story seemingly bolted on. Like Jeremy said, it is a cool idea in theory but I didn't think it worked. The ending, in particular, was absolutely terrible and left me feeling quite annoyed. Plus there were too may plot holes to count.

This movie was hard to sit through. I felt like I was sighing and wondering what time it was the whole time. It wasn't terrible, but the story seemed really under-developed, like some frat guys got together and one said "Dude! I have this awesome idea for a movie. There's this guy, right? And he's not so smart or motivated right? Then he takes this pill and gets really smart and motivated!" And then the other frat guy said "Dude! Awesome, just add guns"

1) Gain lots of money 2) Hire a very big team of the best scientists, all sciences included 3) Buy all the best technology and lots of materials for buildsing 4) With them, I'd find a way for humans to start to colonize the galaxy, may it be through space travel or warmholes travel, whichever works 5) I'd then develop the technology to cryonize myself myself 6) Unfreeze when the galaxy is majorily colonized¸ some intersolar wars 7) Live my dream
