Honestly, this song gives me a feeling and vibe that only Limp Bizkit has ever provided, especially Wes’ clean riffs! I’d love for them to explore this sound again. It’s sacrilege that this never made an album!

good catch. Furthermore, there is an interview where Wes is asked what he's currently listening too (from around october '97), and his answer was "new portishead". He got inspired and they wrote "You Know" (incorrectly titled Dont Remember).

This song is kinda like the other unreleased song they made during this time called "Cambodia". They would play this song and Cambodia at shows in 1998. Then when they went to make Significant Other, Cambodia turned into Trust and Show Me What You Got. Don't Remember was recorded but it didn't make the cut.

I remember listening to a rough recording of this track over 20 years ago via Napster/Limewire/Winamp rips (I can't believe those of us that remember this are so old now but I digress), and it's become apparent in my old age that this could've been the "left" in the t-forked road in their trajectory as a band versus the "right" they ultimately took. Limp Bizkit's instrumental section (Wes, Sam, John, DJ Lethal, etc.), no matter how you feel about the band as a whole, are elite. And while Durst has always lacked range and projection in his singing...I firmly believe they had the talent to pivot to what the Deftones did with 'White Pony'....albeit nowhere near the genius of what Chino et al. did in that record IMO. Instead of a sad Geico commercial, I truly believe they could've had a longer, and more illustrious, sonic career had they pivoted to this sound and devotion to experimenting with their sound early in their career as opposed to giving the world musical vomit such as......basically everything they put out since Significant Other.
