Alexis has the power, speed and creativity but not enough consistency needed to sustain at the very high level. His brother Felix is fast while consistent and is better positioned internationally. In this match, Alexis got totally outclassed by an upcoming next generation Chinese teenage. Lin Shidong is ferocious but consistent enough and fast maturing. In 2 and 3 years, he most likely will be in the top tier of Chinese elite male players.

Yes, Lin will be the future star. He's got the skill with his signature back hand power. All he needs is international experience which unfortunately doesn't come easily for Chinese team members. Wang Chuqin gave the same impression a couple of years back.

You can not simply trick Chinese guys with different serves. I remember in past Lin had literally destroyed Dimitry. He tried many serves but nothing worked. Alexis to tried everything he can but Lin simply seems out of their league. When it comes to backhand powerful shots, Lin and Fan have their own league.
