@@cherenvail963 First off, I'm not the only person to bring it up, second it barely even counts as a spoiler since it was brought up once in passing and never talked about again; hell I've even heard people guess that's he Iroh's son, anyone with half a brain would be able to figure it out because then he would look and sound more like someone closer to Tenzin's age; besides they're probably already on S2 anyways given they have 8+ hidden vids in the playlist. Me pointing it out really doesn't change anything, and you getting mad about it serves no purpose other than making you look like an ass...

6:57 - it's been 70 years in-universe since we saw Iroh teach Zuko (and by extension Aang) to redirect lightning. Even if the three of them had kept that specific technique to themselves, with the proliferation of lightning bending outside of the royal family someone could've discovered it independently in all that time.

REMEMBER: Nickelodeon gave the creators ONLY ONE SEASON at the very beginning, so the ending is going to be a little rough. They had to end it on a good note because they didn't know if they were going to get any more seasons after the first. Same with the 2nd season, after which they were given season 3 and 4 and those seasons are some of the best in the universe. Just hold on!

I honestly think that is comprehensible, but not excusable. I believe there was at least ONE episode more for a necessary and sound conclusion. Specifically an episode about Korra focusing her efforts into her spiritual side (right after coming back to the South Pole to see Katara), then after some turmoil trying to find guidance with past Avatar she gets frustrated and runs away to be alone like the original, while crying she tries to meditate again, then "Tenzin" arrives and Korra annoyed tells him to go away and it turns out to be Aang like in the original. There are 2 takes depending on reality and on foresight, in other words one ending taking into account the animation team thought there was only going to be 1 season, and another ending if they knew they were going to be more: 1-Aang in spirit form guides Korra towards mastering the Avatar state just like Guru did for him in ATLA. Korra listens to Aang sees the errors in her and reflects on them. Eventually she is at the last stretch of getting it, but she fails, then Aang and the rest of the Avatar's lives help her and she unlocks the Avatar state. This is essentially as the original ending, but with a more deep character introspection and a more elaborated and reasonable reason for Korra to get her problems resolved. 2-Aang tells Korra that the Avatar state can allow her to bend all elements, but to restore herself and the rest, she will need to master it, and for that to happen she needs first to master HER OWN spirit. After that Aang and the rest of past lives make her go into Avatar state, but once she comes back to normal she can only air-bend. After that Korra feels hopeful, because there's still a way to fix everything. She sees Mako there, and everything happens as normal. Then, season 2 is still about Spirits and Korra has more LOGICAL reasons to naively believing in her Unalaq, because she's not only pissed about being lied to by Tenzin and her father, but also desperate for trying to master her spiritual abilities and fix the damage Amon did. This way season 2 can play out mostly the same as the original, and season's 3 & 4 be completely unchanged. By the end of season 2 after Korra beats Unavaatu, she masters the Avatar state, but looses the connections with the past lives. Finally Korra, restores everyone who lost their bending to Amon, but all the sequence of events and Korra's mistakes have made it so that she lost the Avatar's previous lives, making this loss have even more weight and reason in the grand scheme of the story.

For the redirecting Lightning part, you have to understand that with time techniques and benders become stronger. Just like how Toph invented Metal bending but the whole police force are metal benders

Now that I see Tenzin's children in "combat" again, I remember something I read in other reactions. Someone gave his opinion that airbending was a little more important in combat in LOK because other people did not know how to deal with this element. And I think he may be right, thinking that air nomads usually didn't get involved in fights and stuff, besides that for a long time the only one was Aang and now after years it's starting to be seen again. 🤔 Love u guys, thanks!🥰

Amon's va is Steve Blum, who also voiced Zabuza in the Naruto dub (Orochimaru too, but he sounds way different), but a lot of people also recognize him as one of the voices from cod zombies, which I think gets forgotten sometimes. And yes, that's his real voice lol

I think it’s only been 70-80 years but still plenty of time to spread the technique. Lightning was only used in the fire nation royal family so it makes sense that Zuko would end up spreading the technique around. Iroh also says that you can become a lot stronger by using wisdom from all 4 nations so having them all come together would naturally strengthen everyone

Everything that was considered rare in ATLA is a lot more common in Korra. Redirecting lightning is no exception. Only 3 ppl in ATLA knew how to redirect it. And only 2 ppl in the series could actually generate lightning. Just like how there was only 1 chi blocker in ATLA, but she taught ppl and now it’s much more common. Same with Metal bending. Even Blood bending even though it’s still pretty rare with only 5 ppl in history knowing how to do it.

Yes redirect lightning was very special and so was creating it, but now it's pretty common just like metal bending. Bending itself is evolving (a bit too much sometimes in Korra for my taste tbh)

The anti-bending revolution is analogous to communist and fascist revolts that occurred across Europe after WW1, which is the same time period Korra is based on(1920s). The acts of the Equalists are not too far off from what happened in real life. Innocent people and families were dragged out of their homes and arrested or killed simply because they didn’t adhere to the ideology of the revolutionaries.

I would suggest you watch The Legend of Whorra from E;R He does an actually fair explanation of everything, but preferable if you've already seen all of Korra as if you haven't yet then you probable can still see for yourself, then again save yourself time and watch those E;R videos. With that said, it makes for a decent alternate universe of the series, if a little watered down and inconsistent.
