This was helpful. I just wanted to get some idea of which tools I need to take home to change my spark plugs so I hopefully won’t be needing anything that I left at work and I can just get the job done the first day. Thanks for the video!

Great video! Thanks for convincing me to do this job and save lots of money!!! I am not a mechanic and I was able to do this job by doing the research first. I took my sweet time. I changed each spark plug and coil before moving on to the next. I bought a 6'' 7MM ratchet wrench to get to the hard to reach bolts on the covers. Since my Thunderbird is 19 years old and in great condition I opted for Motorcraft Coils and Denso Iridium Spark Plugs. I hope to keep the car for at least two more years. Since I bought the parts @t the I was able to opt for the more expensive parts. Rock Auto was much cheaper than the big name brick and mortar stores even with 20% off. P.S. I would opt for a longer ratchet wrench for more leverage, with a swivel if you plan on doing this job. 8'' ratchet wrench maybe?

Yay. I have a misfire on cylinder 6 on the new LS I just bought. Already ordered new could and new plugs. I'm assuming because it's got 98,000 miles, they are still original and have never been changed.

Thanks for the helpful video. I am stuck on removing the last bolt from the driver side spark plug/coil cover. It is the lower-back one that is tucked in by the #8 cylinder and the brake master cylinder. Any suggestions on how to get it out? My small socket is being blocked by the big round chamber of the master cylinder/brake assembly. Thank you!

James I am in your same boat currently trying to remove that bottom bolt, Did you end up getting it removed? Im stuck

I was finally able to get a small 7mm wrench on it. The wrench I used had a ratchet type of closed end so I was able to remove it only an inch or two with each swing, it took a while but I finally got it out. *Upon re-installation I omitted that 8th bolt, just tightened the seven that I could get to without much effort.

Great video but a lot of work can't wait to buy my first electric vehicle as it reduces the hassle that's so many components but I know it will add some other issues later on down the road

Why is it you ONLY SHOW the EAZY SIDE, but NEVER SHOW THE DIFFICULT SIDE? I can figure out the EAZY STUFF, I want to know the problems you faced doing the DIFFICULT SIDE. Waste of my time.
