I had a copy of this amazing album early 1980's but lent it to a neighbour and never saw it again. I just couldn't remember anything about it until I found a TDK cassette recording that I had made with all of the details and then googled. Just found this so fantastic and I am listening to the album again for the first time in 40 years!! Loving it so thanks!!

Brilliantly clear album, no other album sounded this good. As a plus the music is excellent!

this was recorded "direct to disc". Before CDs existed.

When word started to get out that there would be direct to disc recordings with only the very best musicians, Lincoln started to get calls, and letters from the best in the world asking to volunteer their skills for free just to be on the album. I have this one, and the other one (Distinguished Colleagues?). Only used a few times. Just couldn't bear to use them up. This sounds fabulous through Klipsch corner horns. I will sell both albums to whomever would appreciate them.

I have been looking for this version on LP since the cd version has different takes which don't have as much energy as the CD version.

This sounds fabulous in my 2020 Bolt LT ( not Premier with the “ blows” system) on an Apple iPad 5th Generation. What turntable are you using?

What cartridge, what type of stylus,what do you clean your records with?

My bad... maybe it was "The Missing Linc".
@mogsaz2 жыл бұрын
The Missing Linc is the second direct to disc recording made by Lincoln Mayorga at Sheffield Labs. I have it on my KZbin channel if you care to listen to it. I also have Lincoln Mayorga and Distinguished Colleagues, the first album recorded at Sheffield Labs. I originally put it on with side one and side two as separate recordings. I have since put it on as the entire album in one recording. I hope you enjoy listening to them.

You're not turning right. It's fast.
@BB..........3 жыл бұрын
If it's running fast, it must not be by much because I can't hear it, and I've listened to this album hundreds of times.
@mogsaz3 жыл бұрын
I have purchased a new turntable and rerecorded this. The new recording is better quality but, the length of the recording is the same. As this album was recorded direct to the master, there is significant dead time between songs. I removed a lot of that dead time so I could save the files as individual recordings. If you are timing the album from start to finish, it would seem that the recording is fast as the album would be shorter, but the speed is correct.
@陈陈刚-x6r3 жыл бұрын
@@mogsaz No, it's a single comparison with a CD. I'm not a timing album. It has nothing to do with the blank area. You can find a CD or a digital file to compare a single track. In addition, I have this LP. The speed of my LP is the same as that of CD.

Thank you for sharing your musical preferences with us. However, at least appreciate the extraordinary skill and effort on behalf of the musicians and technical crew.

@@richard7crowley Especially for the time. There was NOTHING that sounded like these albums at the time they were released. Somebody at Marantz heard Volume II and they ended up buying a bunch of copies and sending them to their dealers to use as a demo album because it was unlike anything they'd previously heard.
