I'll miss your videos. It's a shame you couldn't get more for it. I know from watching your videos that you put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into maintaining this car. I have a 2006 LIncoln Town Car Signature base model in Silver Birch and it had 137K on it with a rebuild transmission, and I paid 8,000 at the dealer in November 2022. I'm very happy with the car!

It’s hard to let go of a car that you really like and get attached to. I still regret selling my 2005 Buick Park Avenue back in 2011! I’ve had some vehicles I’ve liked since but not like I did that car. With modern vehicles the way they are, I suspect I never will love another car like that again. At the end of the day they are just things and made for a purpose but it is hard not to get attached to a car that you really like.

I'm really surprised you're having so much trouble selling your Town Car. I sold my 2007 Town Car with 464,000 miles on it in two hours after posting it on Facebook market place for $1,200 and got $1,000 cash for it. These cars are great and super reliable and I think yours is in better shape than mine.

You got a great deal at $2K. I predicted a private sale of less than $1K due to the extensive rust, HVAC problems, flex seal paint wheels etc. Here in AZ, a car with that much rust would be sent right to the scrap yard. Sad to see it go, but never say never to another in the future. I have regrets of previously selling a Grand Marquis and the Lincoln 18 and 11 years ago respectively. And today, I'm back in another Grand Marquis. You never know what the future may hold.

My last Town Car video showed me how huge the community is. As for yours I feel sad you got it away for that cheap. But your situation where you live makes it so I understand. The deal will give it to an auction that’s what they usually do.

Don't usually comment but felt compelled for this one . I've enjoyed your videos since Day 1 and continue to watch as you release new videos - I enjoy your personality and am also a 'car guy' . Bittersweet sums up my feelings for this video . One door closes, another opens. Keep up the good work. -Josh in CA.

So glad you reached a level of satisfaction without the monotonous hassle you experienced. I am going to view/test drive a 2006 Lincoln Continental at a dealership one hundred miles north of me the day after Christmas. Hopefully, a mutual satisfactory arrangement will be arrived at. I intend to offer a personal check and arrange with them to have the auto placed on a carrier to be delivered to my front door. A belated present, I hope!!

Enjoy the new ride. You did a video on my '97 LTC Cartier a while back. That was fun. It's still going strong with 68k miles.

That fact that you made 2k is still a win. The sad fact is that, the car will be sold for a min of 4 to 5k plus financing fees. Crooks I tell you.

I had a 2000 grand marquis since new that I got rid of a few months ago due to rust and bad exhaust problems. I wanted to get another panther but they are all too old now even if you find a good one it's only a matter of time untill rust exhaust and leaks eat the car alive. I bought a 2022 chevy Malibu & am happy with it. The panthers were a great car in their day but are now just headache cars that will need constant matience.

That is crazy you had that much trouble with the sale. I drove 400 miles to pick up a 40k mile 2006 Town Car. Now sits at just under 47k miles. I probably wouldn't drive that far again, but it was an emotional "I HAVE TO HAVE IT" kind of purchase, just so I could say I've owned one, lol. Thankfully southern car, so no rust and will remain a southern car here in my home state of AL.

I was surprised also. I thought with a relatively large Town Car community it would have been easy for someone to snatch it up. Probably the biggest issue was that I disclosed all the little problems about it which scared off people :) In any case - someone bought it from dealership anyways... :)

You just gave that old town car new life. The dealer is going to clean it, fix it, and paint where it needs. You did good now take the money and run. And start on your new ford fusion episodes.

Funny, I'm from Indiana, and I would be happy to buy something like this for $3k. There is no prices like this here. Right now I'm looking for a town car (or Crown vic, or grand marquis), and even considering 3 hours drive distance. And nothing even close to that price point

Hey man, I've enjoyed your videos on the Town Car, it's so sad to see it go! I've been wanting to buy one myself, been looking for a 2006+ Sig Lim, with around 100k miles, but they are surprisingly scarce and all priced above $10k which I feel is a bit too much for a 15+ year old car.

As much as everyone dislikes dealers, your experiences at trying to sell your car are the reasons why people buy and sell at dealerships. Private party car sales almost always give the seller a story to tell - lots of crazy "buyers" and loads of scammers! I've bought and sold many of my cars though private party ads, and at the first sign of a red flag I just shut it down. I'm wondering with your excellent record keeping if you wanted to do a total cost video? Something that goes through your purchase, all the repair costs less the proceeds of selling it for $2,000 - maybe figure out a per mile cost not counting gas or insurance. I'm keeping my 2006 Presidential Edition Town Car that is in one of your collaboration videos, its not my main driver and has a bit less than 150k miles and is still in beautiful condition in West Texas. I do all my own work, right now I have the entire dashboard assembly removed while I replace several blend door actuators and the A/C evaporator core.

The funniest part is that 2023 was the only year in the 4 years of ownership where this Town Car only required basic maintenance without any surprised repairs.

Tough to see it go. I still have my 2011. By the way I've done simple maint on a 2012 Fusion, and the cabin air filter can take a while to change due to a small metal cylinder nearly blocking access. Happy Holidays, friend.
