Lincoln Town Car Guy Rediscovers Love of Driving his 2006 Signature Limited + Town Car Sighting!

Been a while since I took this car our for a long drive and I forgot how much I missed it. Had a great trip up North and even met a fellow Town Car along the way.

You were never really trying to sell your TC, you listed it at an inflated price just to satisfy your wife that your financial misadventure with this car would come to an end. I too enjoy driving my 2006 Presidential Edition TC - more than 50,000 miles in the last two years. As nice as my TC drives, I am dreaming of taking it to a higher level: an aluminum drive shaft, taking the interior out and installing Dynamat everywhere and reinstalling the interior, and figuring out how to add another layer of door weatherstripping. I am inspired by riding in a friend's late model Cadillac sedan (I can't remember the model, maybe a CT5?). He was cruising well into the 90 mph range and it was absolutely serene, no wind rustle, no tire noise - just pure quiet.

That's a nice car man, yeah that particular one might leave you without ac but there is little chance it will ever leave you stranded on the side of the road....i have the blend door problem in mine also, but it blows hot and cold....and as long as it does that, it doesn't bother me one bit!

I just completed my three weeks, 5500 mile roadtrip from Central Texas to California and back hitting seven States and truly enjoying the scenery and family and friends along the way. Make it a point of at least one trip a year. Blessings.

@ Ivan R_. It's good to see that you had a nice three week, 5,500 road trip. You must have spent a fortune in gas, especially in California. I was wondering what was the most expensive gas that you saw on your trip? At least when you got back to Texas, you could fill up at Buc-ee's at a decent price if you live near one. They opened a Buc-ee's here in nearby Daytona Beach, Florida, last year. They usually have the lowest price for gas in the area along with Sam's Club.

Even though the '17 Camry is comfortable and is great on gas. I still miss my Town Car. I have never been to that cave before. I might take our kids there. Looks like fun!

The defrost fix is actually really easy if you wanted to fix it. Its like $2 of o-rings and 30 minutes. Just did it on my marauder

Your Town Car looks way better than 95 percent of the ones I see. Unless it's an old person most people our age have Town Cars that look like junk. I'm talking ones I see in person

P71 less maintenance, more robust. TC more maintenance gotta take care of those leather seats , replace air bags maybe once the a/c controls are simpler on a p71 too. P71 not as quiet or comfortable as a TC. My advice, get one of each

You and all the other commentators on here are in the minority who like these cars because ford stopped making them over 11 years ago because of poor sales. Poor reliability was one of the reasons.
