Linda Lewis I actually have never heard this one before but I’m pleasantly surprised how lovely it is. The lyric’s are lovely too. It has a Fiesta feel, in my opinion.

Linda Lewis was a supremely gifted singer, but paid a terrible price for one or two terrible pop songs very early in her career. Evita became the big thing for many years, and this is easily the best version. She had a five octive vocal range, but spent most of the middle years as a backing singer for many famous bands and singers. In later years, became a major act in jazz and blues clubs. This wonderful version of the song is a sad reminder of what could and should of been.

The 1st time I heard it was in Evita & the Evita Soundtrack. Did not know it was an actual song. I thought it was only 4 the Flick. Guess not.

Think it was in the charts in summer of 1979

A lot of songs by Andrew Lloyd Webber were made for musicals but also became pop songs. Like “I Don’t Know How to Love Him” from Jesus Christ Superstar, “Memory” from Cats, and “No Matter What” (popularised by BoyZone) from Whistle Down The Wind. Evita was produced in 1976 and what you saw was the movie adaptation.
