She was putting on that phony accent after being their a short time. You can hear her in interviews from the late 60's & early 70's speaking with a faux British accent.

She knew the media were assholes, but she always handled herself beautifully. She had a zero musical background, but stepped up and took it on the chin when she agreed to play keys in Wings because Paul wanted her to. It wasn't her decision, it was his. It takes a lot of courage to have no musical background and agree to play in a band with a former Beatle. R.I.P. Linda, you always exhibited courage and class.

Well, I do remember reading that she was in a folk group with two other girls in her college days, probably just for fun.
@CiscoDuck
@CiscoDuck 3 жыл бұрын
@@dvinedzine Yes, that is true AND she took piano lessons as a young school girl. Besides that her father was a songwriter and music publisher, so she was always around music even though she never sought to be a musician or a singer per se, she had other aspirations like photography and journalism but there was some talent there. She wrote the middle lyric part to 'Live And Let Die', "What Does It Matter To You When You Gotta Job To Do, You Got To Do It Well, You Got To Give The Other Fellow Hell..." - So she had a little more than zero musical background. In the end it was HER decision to be in Paul's new band Wings - he wanted her to but it was up to her. She was the adventurous sort so she put all of her heart and soul into it and she did wonderfully despite all the raving and ranting of the critics - critics who have never uttered a negative syllable about Yoko's screeching and retching she and John called singing which sounds like fingernails on a chalkboard at the very least while two tom cats are trying to mate with a female feline in heat during a hurricane. Linda was the epitome of class and courage and adventure for sure. I love her harmonies behind Paul and her keyboard parts are more than adequate for the band she was in. The fact that they were together all those years on stage every night, with the kids and the dogs in tow just go to show how much of a family they were on top of being in a band together. Most couples can't stand to be around each other 8 hours a day two days in a row let alone 24 hours a day 7 days a week. I love Paul's line, "She rights me when I'm wrong' in 'Maybe I'm Amazed' - that is so telling of their relationship!

@CiscoDuck
@CiscoDuck 3 жыл бұрын
@@rachelgarcia4301 Linda began singing with Paul before the Beatles broke up (she sang the HIGH harmony on Let It Be) and she was involved with his post Beatles music from day one on their farm in Scotland. He sat around and played the guitar and writing ditties for the kids about the farm, the animals and his love for her and she was right there singing along and adding her little bits here and there. It was just a natural thing for her to do - the question was did she want to be in a band in front of droves of people, traveling from place to place for weeks and even months at a time or did she want to be a housebound wife raising their kids while he was off on tour and recordings. She did not want the so-called normal domestic life for her or their children so they home schooled on the road with the dogs and the kiddies on tour as a family band. Their marriage was solid from the beginning to the end without any scandals or breakups or affairs. She was not diagnosed with Breast Cancer until 1995 long after Wings had dissolved and she died of it in 1998.

I can't shave my legs without getting cut with blood dripping on the carpet, and I can't even do the back of my legs. So, I wear jeans spring, summer, fall, and winter. I'm sure you could have barely seen the hair on her legs, anyway. Because, she has blonde hair. Unlike me, I have thick dark hair. Which means it would be seen clear as day. I know that this may sound personal, but I don't think it was necessary for what stupid people would say about her. When It was probably not even visible. There are people who have blonde hair and dark hair on their legs, but I'm just saying that it might have been possible that it wasn't visible.

Personally, I would never go without shaving underarms and legs, and people don't even see my legs. But, I think Linda was beautiful and a class act. She and Paul were so happy together. Honestly, because she was so fair and blonde-haired, hair on her legs wouldn't be anywhere near as noticeable as someone with dark hair. No matter why I feel this way, I don't think it's attractive to have hairy legs. Not so bad if someone's blonde and doesn't have much hair, like Linda. People must have really been looking for something to criticize if she was harassed about that. I think that most were probably jealous because they had a crush on Paul. She's blonde who cares about hairy legs?????im a brunette and THERES a difference believe me, she was blonde I'm sure her HAIRY legs were hardly visible, give me a break!!!!! Plus the elephant in the room: ITS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS if she shaved her legs. What's crazy is that this interview was probably late seventies??I remember as a kid women didn't much care about shaving then. But now, oh now is a thing it's a ugly brutal THING if a woman doesn't shave...going backwards I guess. Oh boy!!!!!!

Despite the hippy stuff that the Beatles became about, I feel as if the music really brought out the best of creativity in me as a kid. Sgt. 🌶 LHCB was the one that really made me rock out. Loved it. I met Linda as a kid and for a bit we became great pals. Wherever she may be, I wish her the best.

Yoko was no Linda, that's for sure! And when I hear Wings stuff today.. I love her voice mixed in with Paul's. There's a certain unique aspect to it. And she's not screaming one whole side of an album either lmao

I knew scolling down someone would talk trash about Yoko. You knew neither woman but somehowinda was better than Yoko? How so? No one ever rings up Patty Boyd the cheater...or Ringis failed marriage. But they're quit to shoot down Yoko at every possible turn. Woman ain't never said a negative thing about anyone in public but has been hated for decades. By her husband's side til his tragic death, and still mocked. Where as this woman is put on a pedestal for having way more mouth and opinions than Yoko ever had. A blond white woman versus a dark haired asian....I wonder what it could be.....

@@unpopularopinion5449 look genius... I don't have to 'know' either woman.. all I have to do is look at their actions. Don't be ridiculous. Yoko's OWN actions.. documented...observed... witnessed... tell all. Get a grip on reality. Yoko is to this day the opposite of inspiration

Jamillah Robles: Thinking back about Yoko. She was detested 1st -- for screwing around with John Lennon - knowing he was a married man, in the home where John and Cynthia lived - in their bed and was even sitting in Cynthia’s robe when Cynthia came home and Yoko didn’t bat an eye.. 2nd- Yoko’s “singing” was like nails screeching down a chalkboard v e r y s l o w l y. Horrible -- she was laughable. 3rd - the way that she treated Julian Lennon. - even not giving him anything from John’s estate after John was murdered. Julian actually had to bid at the auction - on the letters that he wrote to John which greedy heartless Yoko would not give back to him. Julian also had to sue Yoko for some inheritance. She would not give him anything above the pittance John left for him. Oh and let’s not forget how John treated Julian like a POS and Yoko did nothing to try and mend that ( maybe not her place to do so but it was thoughtless) At that point - people pretty much thought she was a vile human being. Julian and Yoko eventually became friendly probably because of Sean. Basically - Yoko did nothing to endear herself to anyone.

@@lilybond6485 lol you write all of this as if you knew her personally. Lol ok. She wasn't 'good girl of the year. But in the end, what mattered is that John loved that woman, he didn't love his EX WIFE any longer. If I saw another woman in my home in my bed with my man, I would have whooped her 'A'. And my soon to be exes...and I would have moved on. It hurts yes, but clearly your husband is telling you he no longer loves you. Tacky way to do it, but nevertheless. I don't understand how ppl can hate this woman for 40 years? As if she hurt them? Some would say that John got what was coming to him for what he did. Maybe so. But Yoko lived a full life. Shes a smart woman. And ppl hate her for that. She snagged a beatle. Just like Linda did. Just like patgy did. But we wanna hate on Yokofor being a groupie. They all were.john just happened to come with baggage and the rest didn't. I'm not mad at her. I believe she was the way she was is that everyone treated her like crap. So what was she suppose to do? Kiss their asses? Please. She hit them all hardest....in the pockets. She lost her love, but she's paid ribute to him more than anyone else who claimed they loved him. Even Julian.

@Jamillah: This information came directly from interviews with Cynthia Lennon and Julian Lennon. Separate interviews and more than one interview. Yoko Ono had zero redeeming qualities other than the ability to snag John Lennon. It’s got nothing to do with her race. She would have been despised if she was a natural platinum blonde white female given the same behavior as Yoko.
