The song was written by Paul but credited to Linda, according to The Paul McCartney Project website. Anyway I think it's bluegrass mixed with jazz and progressive rock, very cool and maybe innovative for 1973.

Thats because it is Wings lol.Recorded November 20th 1973

It originally had a section between the intro and verse that was even more Wings but it has a Paul lead vocal so it was cut.
@Gabriel_7072 жыл бұрын
@@justanotherrandomcrit8115 Yes, I think Paul cut his part to make the song fit the Wide Prairie album, Linda's compilation created by Paul.

I was in Paris waiting for a flight When this guy came up to me and said "Have you got a light?" I was born in Arizona And when I was only three My mother took me to her saddle And we rode the wide prairie Oh, wide prairie, wide prairie And we rode the wide prairie My mother took me to her saddle And we rode the wide prairie Well I was living in Aspebueller And when I was only ten My father took me to his saddle And we rode the range again My father took me to his saddle And we rode the wide prairie And I ain't going back No, I ain't Going back no more Well, now we live in Albuquerque And we raise the family tree We spend our days a-feeling perky And we ride the wide prairie We spend our days A-feeling perky And we ride the wide prairie I was in Paris waiting for a flight When this guy came up to me and said "Have you got a light?" And you know what happened

I've never been a fan of Linda McCartney's solo music, although I have to admit that what she brought to Wings and McCartney's solo work was substantial and it's safe to say that we all love her and miss her dearly Lalala la lala lovely Linda!
@buttkid35483 жыл бұрын
She never really had any solo music. Seems most of it was repurposed Wings stuff. Which is great.
@DanielDid013 жыл бұрын
@@buttkid3548 I'm referring to her entire compilation album of solo work, although Paul did work on every song, they're very much her music and credited to her. But also what she brought to Paul's work too, from Man We Was Lonely all the way to Heaven on a Sunday
@Gabriel_7072 жыл бұрын
@@DanielDid01 On the compilation she wrote just 4 songs alone. Most of them were co-written, produced, and mostly played by Paul. A couple of them were by other artists. The compilation itself was created by Paul.

my first time listening thx for commment
@promosounds24 күн бұрын
@@DanielDid01 In terms of song-WRITING, Paul did not contribute to her song 'Love's Full Glory' which she wrote 100% on her own. Hence it was never released as single when re-recorded with Tony Visconti in 1983 (it nearly was). I think Paul's ego maybe got in the way.

As much as I love Linda as a person that she is, she has a really bad voice for singing solo. Paul was really generous in allowing her to record an entire album with that voice.

Arizona doesn’t have prairies, it has chaparrals, if you’re going to do a song you should know that.
