Thank you so much. I’ve been using a pair of these with a pair of JLM FC500 Fet Comps, primarily to sweeten up synth parts as I do track builds. They sound great and subtle changes in this chain really helps when mixing tracks built up from the same source. I use them for adr and foley recording as well; top notch. I plan on building up 8 channels of each, again mostly for synth track builds for soundtrack work. As you say, a lot less than a rack of full blown Pultecs! Thanks again for the in depth look.

Hey man, I just wanted to ask In your experience what are the most accurate and neutral headphones you have tested? what I mean by this is which headphones that you have tested comes the closest (with the least amount of deviation if not being identical) to reproducing the original signals like the sine wave, music, spoken word and in the log analysis etc. the reason I ask is because I need headphones with surgical accuracy, precision and no hype or deviation whatsoever for critical listening that I can use for work so if you could please answer this I would appreciate it thanks

Headphones are tricky because they sound different depending on where you place them, but if you're going to mix on them you need open backs.

Hey, sorry for the delayed response. The physics of our ears impact the frequency response curve we hear. Open-back headphones are less impacted by this vs closed-back designs. The most neutral/accurate headphones I have tested (not all reviews up on YT yet as these are long term tests I am currently working on) are the Sennheiser HD800S, HD650, and Audeze LCD-X. Another excellent option at less cost vs the 800 and LCD-X is the Shure SRH-1840 - well worth considering.

@@askdrtk thank you for your response, what about the AKG K-240 MK II with the velour pads on? In your experience how have they faired in the long term in regards to neutrality and sound accuracy to the original source file?

Glad I could help out! With so many mixed reviews about almost every gear, for me it comes down to sound and quality/durability/reliability. After spending a lot of time working with this EQ every day, it's difficult to find a reason not to recommend it... Cheers!

In your opinion, it's this a good EQ? To my ears has a great sounding harmonics, the round bottom end and the forward mid range sounds great.

I would say these are a great option if you are looking for a pultec-style EQs. KZbin audio being what it is, they sound much better on the original tracks. As you said, nice harmonics, smooth, and the mids are just forward enough imo. For me, it pretty much lives on bass, but I would consider putting a pair of them on 2-bus any day, especially for rock, alternative, country, etc...
