It's worth a mention, It's great to have a project like this and have an end result where you can relax and use it on the water great stuff well done.

I hope you continue to keep us up to date on this project, I am thinking of redoing my 1985 25 foot Aquasport family fisherman, it needs a lot of work, I want to change it over to a pilot house, redo the transom and put an outboard bracket on the back. The boat will get completely gutted if I decide to do it, so keep up the good work.

Great project. you should go and check out "Out on the Reef" and get some ideas on how to outfit your project. As fro your heater, it looks as though it runs off your inboard motor. Which you would loose when you put on the outboard. You could install a diesel heating system and that would work while your at anchor. The out on the reef guy has an air conditioner that he runs off a tiny generator he mounted on the transom.
@LindellAdventures3 жыл бұрын
I will for sure do that! I was thinking of keeping it for a future project but ended up tossing it. It has some issues, but you’re right! It was a coolant system and was plan on using a 12 volt electric heater for inside 👍 thanks for the ideas!

How about a small generator in the engine space, 3-4 kw? Use as much of the original interior layout as possible. Don’t reinvent the wheel. Good choice on the Suzuki motors. Rehabbed a few boats in my time, so this is interesting to me. Good job.
@LindellAdventures3 жыл бұрын
I plan on using a 2200 generator to charge the batteries since the plan is using a 12v heater and accessories as much as I can. The engine bay will be a fix box most likely but we shall see! Thanks for tagging along!

You're doing really well, and I especially like that you wear breathing protection in that cabin, as those airborne fragments are definitely not conducive to good health!

Love your project I’ve been looking at a similar 23 Olympic that had an old omc sea drive outboard on it. Considering ripping off the old motor and going with a pod bracket. And twin 115 outboards

My dad had an OMC on his Olympic before he went to a new 175hp Suzuki. Love his boat!

Don’t buy the boat unless you for sure are going to repower the boat. OMC engines are trash.

The plan is to buff the outside gelcoat and then install a liner inside the cabin but was thinking of doing a combo of gelcoat and a padded liner that looks nice on the inside of the cabin! What you think?

FYI you need to be clear that you will never get back the $$ you are going to spend restoring it, you up for major dollars 30 thousand for a pair of used engines to start.
