Her parents and grandparents were all descended from Norwegian immigrants or immigrants themselves. The 4% British Isles we’ve traced to Vikings.

Reyna Letizia's family does not have Filipino blood. One of her great grandparent was born in PH during the Spanish Era. Back then Spanish people who were born in PH were known as Filipinos. Natives were called Indios.

Yes, jorgio & Pinkknight are correct. Her grandmother was born in the Philippines but she was of Spanish blood/ European ancestry. She was an insulares - Spaniard born in PH, which was then still a colony of Spain. If she (Letizia) has her DNA tested, she will probably be mostly of European ancestry and none or very little of Asian/ Austronesian DNA. (Filipinos are Austronesians - the "islander" SE Asians.) If one of her ancestors (great, great 2x, etc) grandfathers dabbled in the local Filipino population, then maybe Letizia would have some (very little) Asian DNA. I was initially excited to know that Letizia had Filipino ancestry but upon further checking, it turns out that her grandma is of Spanish descent/ ancestry.

Considering that Germany consisted of a lot of different indipendent small countries, each with their own royal families, Germany had considerably more royal bloodlines than any other country in Europe, so if you are scouting for royal spouses or surplus royals to be put on a throne, Germany was a good place to start. 😂

@olgahein438410 ай бұрын
@@VenturaIT Ever heard of the so called 'Holy Roman Empire'? It's not the complete name of this empire. The correct name is 'The Holy Roman Empire Of United GERMAN Nations'. In german: 'Das Heilige Römische Reich Vereinter Deutscher Nationen', also known as 'The First Reich'. That was the start of Germany as one united (more or less) country/land/empire. The dialects are going back millenias ago, long before the romans came, when germanic tribes of different origins were settling here. Having a dialect is normal here, especially in the Black Forest where every village was founded before Columbus set foot in America and has its own dialect. Bavaria is the only place where they use that dialect in educational institutions, otherwise a dialect is private stuff. And yes, high german was created on the basis of middle german dialects, to have a nation (or back then: empire) wide way of communication. That was done btw in EVERY country in Europe at some point, cause regional dialects emerging over time is a natural thing to happen when people don't travel too much.

The definition of a Filipino in the late 19th century, when Queen Letizia’s ancestors were born, was different from today. Queen Letizia’s grandmother was indeed a Filipino, but it meant that she was a Spanish born in the Philippines. The term Filipino only applied to the native population in the 20th century. Prior to that, our ancestors called themselves what their local ethnicity was - Tagalog, Bisaya, Kapampangan, Ilocano etc

The Russian House of Romanoff was really the German house of Holstein-Gottorp. The last monarch of Russia who had mostly Russian blood was Empress Elizabeth, daughter of Peter I. Nicholas II, the last Russian emperor, had almost no russian blood. It is hard to believe the First World War could have happened, considering how closely related all the monarchies were.
@nirfz10 ай бұрын
I recommend the book "Sleepwalkers" about the topic of WW1's outbreak. It's about the last decades before it and how it got that far. In very short about the last russian emperor he was pushed into that direction by others. And the english monarch basically had to do what the government told him to represent. The british government would have been more likely to stay out of the war (at least initially) if the germans would not have gone through Belgium.* My opinion: the british could have even joined the other side even despite their agreements with the french, if the germans would have waited longer with their belgium march because the french also thought abuot going through Belgium... Belgium-neutrality-violation is what brought the british into the mess mostly.

Germanic (not just just German proper) ruled large parts of Europe since the collapse of Rome. Franks in France (from whom the Bourbons descend from), Visigoths in Spain (many Spanish dynasties claimed their origins from them) , Lombards in Italy as well as Norse in Russia. One of the most powerful empires in European history was the Holy Roman Empire led by Charlemagne who was a Germanic Frank from whom descends most modern royals as well as common people in western Europe. Other events such as Anglo Saxon migration and Norman conquests further spread the Germanic DNA, even to the common people. One could confidently say that the Germanic people forged Europe as it is today after the fall of Rome.

I have a large percentage of English and Scottish DNA, but also a large percentage of Scandinavian ancestry. Despite my best efforts, I can't identify any obvious Scandinavian ancestors (with obvious Scandinavian names). It's possible that some of my English and Scottish ancestors were descended from Vikings and then continued to have children with others who also had Viking DNA, so it never "washed out." I believe this is particularly true of English families who, for many generations, have lived in Yorkshire and other areas of northern England and parts of Scotland.

And let's not forget that with royals, there was always someone recording and the records were kept more in depth and safer than with normal people. Normal people didn't need to be able to proof their heritage on paper a few centuries back to legitimize their daily job. And their records were done, but mostly not to the level of royals. I could trace my ancestory further back than the late 18hundrets, if the records were better. And in the record also remark the parents name and occupation as well as the godparent, the priest and even the midwife by name. But they didn't write down the birthplace and date of said parents. So if you don't know that fact it's almost impossible to search. The other problem i have is the font they used in their handwriting. As mentioned in the last video. On my maternal side, my family is directly descended from the Scottish Ogilvy clan and the Earls of Airlie Castle. Amazingly enough, we have found we are directly related to Lady Clementine Ogilvy Spencer Churchill, ( wife of Winston Churchill ) through the Ogilvy clan on our family tree. Lady Spencer-Churchill also connects us to the Spencer family through marriage and family. Not just that, we also have famous relatives such as Angus Ogilvy ( the husband of Princess Alexandra ) and the famous Scottish Napier line of Barons who were friends with the royal family and made their mark on history.

Great video, thanks! It's a lot of fun to look at History from different angles. There is a caveat with the Spanish Borbon Dynasty blood proportions. It's believed that King Consort Francisco de Asis was not the father of any of Queen Isabel II's children, since he had a congenital disease and also was famously homosexual. The most likely father of Alfonso XII seems to be a military aristocrat from Valencia, Captain of the Guard and Queen's lover at the time, Enrique Puigmoltó. I'd say that would result of an extra percentage of Spanish blood to current Heir, Princess Leonor. It's mentioned in Wikipedia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isabella_II_of_Spain

Yes, the last tsar to marry a Russian noblewoman was Peter I The Great. His first wife was Yevdokia(Eudoxia) Lopukhina. In his second marriage, he married a Polish (probably also of German origin) wife, and the further Romanov line begins with their daughter Anna Petrovna, who was married to a German prince of House Holstein - Gottorf. Marrying mostly German princes and princesses was an ingrained tradition in the House of Romanov.

Queen Letizia's Filipino side is actually non-indigenous but still Spanish, as her ancestor was in fact an Insular Spaniard born and raised in the Philippines. It is still safe to say that she has "Filipino" roots because the term although was exclusive for Philippine-born Spaniards up until the arrival of the American, it became the generalize term for the inhabitants of the country by the beginning of the 20th century regardless of ethnic backgrounds. So yes, Queen Letizia may still identify herself as Filipino regardless of her ethnicity

The reason that most of Europe's remaining monarchs are of strong German blood is because of two famous European monarchs who reigned largely in the 19th century. Those two monarchs were Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and King Christian IX of Denmark. Those two monarchs were of largely German blood. They both had many children who married into other European royal families and in turn produced grandchildren and great grandchildren , etc . Again that is one of the main reasons that many of those remaining monarchs of Europe who are descended from both Queen Victoria and King Christian IX have largely German blood.

This is a fairly easy one.... Wolfram von Eschenbach's Parzifal tells us how the grail moved from Aragon to the court of Thuringia, and from there to Sicily with Frederick II, Holy Roman Emperor. His character of KYOT was Ramond VI, Comte de Toulouse, and HERZELOYDE the grail mother was Constance of Aragon, wife to Frederick II. Parzifal was meant to be Guillaume de Nogaret's grandfather but it seems that other plans were afoot, not least the Cathar Inquisition that KYOT and ANFORTAS helped to defend against. Instead, de Nogaret was one of the prime movers behind the demise of the Knights Templar in 1307. From the Thuringian descent, we get most of the German royal families of Europe, including of course the Hanoverian dukes of Brunswick-Luneburg of the UK Royal line. We also get the protagonists of Rosicrucianism and the Reformation, whilst the Sicilian descent brings us many of the protagonists of the Renaissance. As the grail moves to Scotland, we see the emergence of the Scottish line of the Reformation, and later Freemasonry.

This insight into Royal ancestry is fascinating. It seems that Princess Diana of England and I were 9th cousins on her fathers side. Our common ancestor was Henry Legassicke 1631-1682 living in Devon England. It seems to be unclear if the name was of french origin or from Cornwall in England. I wonder how that would tie into the heritage of her son Prince William, the next King of England? It would then be that I am 9th cousin once removed to the King of England. That is so fantastic.

The oldest remaining and known dynastic line is the Danes. Numerous Scandinavians and Vikings formed the basis for new dynasties. For example, Knut the Great, King of England, and his dynasty came from a Polish dynasty Mother and Danish/Norwegian Father. Knut the Great (Danish & Norwegan, King of England) was the son of Świetosława and King Sweyn Forkbeard. If his dynasty had continued, they would have been as ald as the Danish dynasty. Polish blood is the Central Slavs, Russian (Tsarinas from Szczecin (Stettin)/Prussia/Poland), Russian, Belarusian, Ukrainian are the Eastern Slavs, and the Western Slavs were BC and AD, tribes, as in Germanicus and Roman times - Germans are than Western Slavs (not to be confused with slaves). There are also Southern Slavs (Countries south form Poland up to Greece). The Deutsches and Alemmans are different from the "Niemcy" (in polish) or Germans (the rest of the world) in the Slavic language, from the word "mute". The word "Niemcy" means "mute" for Poles, since when they were visiting our land hundreds years ago, they rarely spoke and sat silently by the fire. They were strangers. Germain ancestors were also Slavs, as stated in ancient history by Herodotus, a warrior of Alexander the Macedonian, philosopher and writer. Macedonia, Serbs as Serbs Polabian are also Slavic. At least 4 large Slavic tribes speaking the same language were the areas conquered by Germanicus (hence the name Germani). Among them, the Wendeliks/Wends (Vandals), people from the Vistula River, known until the 17th century as the river of King Wandal and then of Queen Wanda/Węndy, which means "charming" "seductive" for the name, then Bavarians, Zambrians, Sambrians, Moravians, Drzewianie and many, many other names nowadays, pronounced in German different from Slavics langage. For the Slavs, the rivers from the Polish Shrike Chronicle of Dzierzba are well known, such as the Dnieper, Niemen, Wandal and Oder, the Elbe, the Rhine (Rhine), and partly the Danube. These were one of the 7 larger rivers belonging to the Polonorum Empire, the Lehites (Lechistan/Scythia) b.c. until VII century. Deutschland/Alemania only began to take shape in the 7th century AD. as the territories of the Roman Empire of some newly created immigrant merchant nation, which dominated Europe about 1,300 years later, twice in wars, and arose at the same time and just like Islam. After the Henry's dynasty in Germany, the Slavic Ottonians took the throne, but their history was separated from the rest of the Slavic region mainly by a foreign and incomprehensible language, i.e. "mute". If the Augsburg Chronicle had been preserved, we would know more about the Lechites/Poles, King Lech III and the Polonorum Empire than we know now. After the Roman victory at Lechowe Pole (today Austria), Lech's town was renamed Augsburg after the victorious Emperor Augustus. The chronicle was most likely burned.
