This must be the best video explaining the vocal processes and set ups...I’ve only just plugged in a condenser earlier today. In conjunction with the looper for doing scratch/ ideas /harmonies / guitars loops/ textures...Awesome..and HOPE Line 6 do actually realise this is one great machine that could really EXCELL in vocal processing on top of what it does already...not to mention the looper...Halicon Roll On with more FX in the future 🙏.🎸🥳🎧 Great Video and brilliant quality also. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great video! You can try the compressor after the eq. In that order the compressor is working only with the frequencies you want. In that set up of the eq, the low frequencies doesn't hit the compressor. Is more subtle and soft that way

Thanks! Sometimes I use a compressor at the front and at the end as well. I like how it has meters in the compressors now.

Great video. Have tou tried using the helix for vocal harmony? I play in a 4 piece and found (with another band) that the tastful use of a boss vocal harmony pedal can really fill out choruses….. was thinking of trying to put our singer’s mic through my helix and adding some harmonies as it seems to do a good job on guitar harmony. I’m already putting and sy-1 in a loop to add and organ or synth sound to my guitar…. Sounds awsome.

Just picked up a Helix 2 days ago. I lead worship at church, on guitar and vocals. I have a Flamma Corrector pedal for autotune. It has XLR in and out, obviously, but I also run a stereo guitar setup, so the XLR outs on the Helix will be going direct to FOH for the guitar. Can I put the Corrector in the FX loop of the B line, using XLR to TRS cables? My sound guy has been complaining that my vocals have "static." Thing is, I can't really hear it in my in-ears, but he insists that it's there. So, having the noise gate on the vocals might help him be satisfied. If the effects loop option isn't viable, how would you suggest I set this up. I'd prefer to not have my guitar signal go to a DI box....just another box to have on the floor. You had mentioned the TC Helicon Harmonizer in the FX loop, so I Figured that this option might work with the Corrector (basically the Mic Mechanic)
@aaronshortmusic
@aaronshortmusic Жыл бұрын
Why not plug your mic into the corrector and then the XLR out from the corrector to the XLR in on the Helix?
@TJEvans98
@TJEvans98 Жыл бұрын
@@aaronshortmusic then how do I get out to the board? Both XLR outs on the Helix are used for R/L guitar signal. I'm thinking, plug mic into Helix...then use a 1/4 out TRS to XLR cable into Corrector, then out to board... OR, bite the bullet and use my DI box to get the guitar signals to the board.

I made all the connections my mic in the helix floor, now using a reverb in my vocal chain, however, when I try to record my vocal in my DAW the recording what I get is a dry sound with not effect, but I can listen the effect through my headphones, but in the track is a dry signal. Do you know what is going on here?

Aaron, I'm a guitarist/singer and i'm seriously considering buying a Helix and stumbled upon your video. What I noticed is that the Helix has a XLR Mic In, but not a XLR Mic Out. How do you send your mic signal to the soundboard in a live situation? Does it come mixed with the guitar signal or can you separate them? Thank you for an awesome video (didn't finish yet but already love it).

If the mic is triggering the signal meter then you should be hearing it in the headphones if jute are plugged in and turned up. There is also a mic level in settings that needs to be adjusted. Just make sure you do not clip the mic output level.

@aaronshortmusic 2 жыл бұрын
@@marstudios7879 From the manual: When a DAW track's software monitoring is active, you'll likely not want to hear the hardware monitoring signal simultaneously. To achieve this, you can set the Output block to USB Out 3/4 or 5/6. These Output block options will route your processed, stereo signal out to your DAW software without also providing the hardware monitoring to USB 1/2. You'll then need to set your DAW track to receive from the same selected USB Out to record the processed signal into the track - or, you can optionally set the DAW track input to USB 7 or USB 8 to record a dry DI signal-see the next section.

Been experimenting with mics in my floor but when I get the volume up to an acceptable singing level it’s so noisy it’s unusable for me. Any ideas why this is? I change the volume on the “mic in gain” on global settings and using a sm58
@aaronshortmusic
@aaronshortmusic 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Jake. That’s interesting. Do you ‘eat the mic’ when you sing, that is important to get a good signal to noise ratio. Try that first.
