Still deciding if I want to replace my Julia with this since I just sold it lol I loved the retro reel in the stomp when I had it
@sundaytone29 күн бұрын
Yea I currently use it for chorus, vibrato, octave, trem, and an extra delay. Works great for all of those and it's easy to program and switch presets.

Definitely grabbing one in the next few weeks. I look forward to some sound samples from you as you use this!

Thanks! I think it could fit really well with my rig.

been using an M5 for like a decade. Finally I can upgrade that! I am a pedal guy into real amps so this is perfect for me!

Never been interested in the Line 6 world. I like being able to pick my own pedals and think they just sound better. But I’m thinking of adding this to my bass board to fill in some gaps. I agree with the Swiss Army knife idea of tones. Single tones are fine with me. I can easily stack with my existing pedals. For what you get I think the price is actually pretty cheap! I’ve paid more for less.

I had an M5 and loved it for odds and ends effects that I didn’t use often. This seems like the next generation of that but with some great upgrades.
@sundaytone Жыл бұрын
Yea seems like a lot of people had the M5 and used it for that! Seems like if you have a small spot on your board and need something that is a swiss army knife, this would work great.

Adding the HX One to an older rig gets closer to a new level. I rarely used my Zoom product but now with the HX One I found new inspiration. Great product!

Totally agree, seems like a really nice "catch-all" option

I am looking for a Freeze pedal and the Line 6 One has that effect but I caanot find a comparison with the EHX freeze. If it is as good as the EHX I would go for the Line 6 since it has much more effects. Do you have a Freeze pedal to compare it? Thanks
@HarrisonSD03 Жыл бұрын
Im really considering this bc Id use it for delays and modulation. There arent any other pedals that do that not in the price range anyways.
@sundaytone Жыл бұрын
Yes - exactly! I think there is a lot you could do with it.

So regarding the power requirements it states 500ma which sounds like it needs 2 outputs on the psu! Can you confirm if this is the case or if one output @400ma is sufficient? Cheers
@sundaytone9 ай бұрын
I just got the HX One and it works off of one output from my CIOKS DC7 but the DC7 does output 500ma on each output. I don't have another power supply to try it with though.

Personally, I've had an HX Stomp 3 times and could never bond with it. This seems like a much more interesting proposition for me. If I want a Whammy, there it is. If I want a capo or a rotary effect, it's right there. I don't get the hate for this. The H9 is way more expensive than this and it only does one algorithm at a time. This is a must have for me.

Good video. I definitely don't get the hate. I think the HX One is an incredible value when compared to the pedals you named (mobius, synesthesia, etc). It's just not a good value when compared to the HX Stomp. But if you're not going to put a stomp on your board for reason you named, power space etc, this is a great fit.

Greetings from México, does the Tonex has the capability to control it via midi? can it get a diferrent fx from the hx one for each preset in a bank in the tonex via midi?
@sundaytone Жыл бұрын
Yes Tonex can be controlled by midi. It doesn't seem like the HX One can send midi program change messages but only receive them. I haven't tried it but that is what it looks like from looking at the manual. You could probably achieve what you're thinking about with an external midi controller like the Morningstar MC6 or Pirate Midi Bridge 6.
@donbravo-canaloficial7367 Жыл бұрын
@@sundaytone im sorry, a meant the other way around, tonex control the hx one via midi to have a different fx for each preset in the tonex.
@sundaytone Жыл бұрын
Mine actually didn't come with a strap pin - I added one at some point. But I got this over 10 years ago, so not sure how they do it now. I think they may be using a different pickup now too.
@sundaytone Жыл бұрын
@@donbravo-canaloficial7367 Oh I see - I don't think Tonex can do that. I haven't tried it but seems like it doesn't have a way to setup and send midi messages.

Curious. Have you ever really gotten into the whole all in one thing or the HX FX or something like that? And for you, have you ever been uh traditionally kind of a person that wants one pedal that does a couple things or can do one thing and uh, does it really well?
@bonafideguitar6 ай бұрын
Serious no demo wow

I do not agree with you when you say it is not for HX stomp users. I own a HX Stomp XL and ordered the One to replace a Drop pedal and will control it via midi out from the XL.
@sundaytone11 ай бұрын
Not saying you can't use one. I think that's great. I was trying to point out that most of the people who are super upset about the HX One have owned a Stomp or Helix before.
@jackwinder11 ай бұрын
Ah..I understand and think people should not be upset about this great unit 😉

NO. too expensive. dumb product. we guitarists are too dumb. we pay for simplicity. that kills innovation off. get a used m50 to learn effects. or a zoom cdr70. or get a used hx stomp for 400 instead.

@@barrycreed9886 uh yea. your so right. youre talking to a workman btw. buy cheap buy twice. thats what their after. buy twice. the hx stomp has become a tool for life for me. with midi that new simple cute plastic pod could have replaced the hx in 80percent of cases for my setups. but no. its intended for beginners, so the marketing guys decide to not include midi, albeit its right there on that dsp. just some jacks missing. im blaming the company not the tool, not the developers but the people buying it thinking its a feature. if you dont need midi time in your musical life im happy for you. but i fear for line6. uafx modelling is stellar, and the chinese cheapos ar gnawing at their base customers. their worship/top40/beginner centric marketing has led to them as beeing perceived as gimmicky, toyish by the „serious“ synthesizer crowd. every body has an eventide, strymon,empress… but l6? „yikes, thats forbeginner guitarists. „ iregulalrly blow electro guys mind with hx pitching/glitching parallel delay lines, 5blocks, one tape agefx, autopanner, instant ambient lofi heaven. beat that microcosm. and still line 6 hasnt come round to fixing that flaw of their looper block time: it cant even sync to its internal clock. unusable. why they gives us amazing updates after update (dynamic hall is soooo good) and not fix this little blunder is beyond me. maybe just legacy bad programming issues or prioritization. i spent an hour talking to 1010 music developers at sooperbooth trying to explain to them that if they could make their sampelingpads of their blackbox behave like a one button looper they could blow boss out of the water. 16 loops. they could enter the guitar market too. but they also lack an immediate stop function, in the end he said: „well its a product meant for synthesist and not meant to do that. „ tiny cost, big potential lost. but i guess thats all gibberish to you anyway. lateley i mostly play my lp, neck pu tone rolled back into an old 60s gdr tube radio. thats also enough. so maybe im a bad workman or you live in ignorant music tech oblivion. maybe not. or both? diesnt matter. have fun! what do you play?
