Glenn, you mentioned being a fan of Line 6 for a while. My admiration for Line 6 goes way back to their release of the AX2 212 combo. In my opinion it is still the best combo they've released. I am not sure why it didn't catch on more than it appears. For those of you who would like a nice combo amp and don't have a ton of money then look for one on an online site. You should be able to buy one for under $300, or around that price. Be sure to get the foot pedal because it will make using it so much easier. Thank you for the wonderful videos, Glenn. after the usb firmware update is installed , it tells you to to turn then off the pod, but there is no power switch .

Hey Glenn, you mentioned you are not sure if all new models have the "PRE" option.. can you tell? I normally use the PRE setup (no cabinet) as I connect to a half stack.

Glen, love your videos buddy. Sadly I am not able to update one of the components with the same ease as I observed you did in this video. Like most others, I can’t seem to update my USB firmware to ver 1.04. I get an error code. Searched high and low and still no solution. This prevents me from doing other stuff too. Could you kindly look into this and let me know if there is a solution? I have green checks on all the listed items on monkey except the usb firmware. Please help.

Hey glen,first off thanks!!!What you fo and how you instruct on gear is essential.I have always been a BOSS guy,but that hd500x has convinced me!Couple of inquiries...can I set up like say I'm on " son of plexi"then assign one of the pedals for channel switching WITHIN the "son of plexi" setting.Also as I'm intending on using this as my main amp(I have no amp at the moment) what power amp & cab would you recommend??? I was thinking carving power amp for cost effectiveness.Thanks for your time

Damon Stewart Hi Damon, instead of a "traditional" amp & cab, a better match for the HD500X would be a Full Range Flat Response speaker like a PA speaker. I use an Alesis Alpha. It has a 12in. and a Neodymium horn for example or even the Line6 LT speakers. Those were designed to work well with the Pod's. On your other question, you can't "Change patches within a patch" but you can do many many other things within a patch that would accomplish the same thing as changing a patch like switching amps or turning on or off effects using the switches on the HD500X.

Hi Glenn...I have a problem with my 500x..when i connect it to the jam hub it sounds like i have some overdistorted transitor dist ..i have checked all outputs signals and it is set to line for recording..the hub im using is in perfekt shape and works with other instruments as well with i mic..digital drums and keabords. When i use my pod with a power amp it sounds perfekt so what is your upinion in this matter..would love to hear your advice. Tnx

Glenn DeLaune It more or less the same as a mixer but your using it with headphones like when you want to rehersal with only phones...the hub i use is one called Jamhub greenroom..hope this tell you something.

You could be clipping the input. Turn the level down on the Jamhub Input level.

Yeah iv tryed it to the lowest level but the main isiu seams to be the distorsen changing to like transistor dist..as soon as i connect it to a power amp the sound gets correct again..the input on the hub is also made for line signal like a mixer or a power amp so im very confused about this isiu...the pod is also set to line from the output..and i have also tryde the differens between several output signals from the pod but non of them works like it should do as i understand from several clips on youtube

I wish I had an answer for you, I would set the POD to Instrument level, not Line level. That might be it.

Bee Won No, that is incorrect. If you get a Line6 POD HD(X000) whatever .. . you get plenty of great amps that are included. These are just some "New Amp Models" that they just released. They really are worth the upgrade in my opinion. Let it be known!!!! I AM NOT AFFILIATED IN ANY WAY WITH LINE 6"!!!!!! I just like their products and I feel they will continue to evolve.

***** Also, if I might add . . Line6 has been doing this sort of thing (releasing upgrade products for purchase) for at least 15 years now. Remember the XT-Live?? They released Model Packs for that. I got them. Then they had POD Farm and released extra Model Packs for that as well.

***** OK. I got a little freaked by the dialog box that mentioned your credit card. So, if I bought a unit, they would never need my Card#, unless I used their shopping cart. I occasionally check reviews on the HD to see where it's heading. I'm not into modelling, but was interested as another interface with FX. Thanks for clarifying. Bee Won Yes Bee, you are correct. If you were to purchase a Line6 POD HD (X0000) whatever, you would not need to give Line6 your credit card #. That's only if you wanted to get the "extra" amps models that they just released. You get Plenty of Great Great amp models included. Just go through some of my videos and you'll see & hear "what you buy is what you get". Cheers Bee

Yamaha-Steinberg updated the firmware on the UR824 with some guitar modelling of some sort, but I didn't upgrade, because they took away functionality for a couple other Operating systems in the process. I use that unit on three different OSes and different PCs. Wasn't worth it to me. I'll check your "FX" vids.
