I think line 6 have nailed it with this product. I’m considering getting one and just using some amp heads along with one of the speaker sims. I’m still a valve amp guru, but I have purchased the line 6 Hx and some of your building block patches which are awesome! Definitely beats the find the broken cable on a pedalboard system and the HX effects were more than adequate for my needs against my analogue pedals. Great review guys!

WT, thanks for your video's and patches!. it sounds very good! I shortly bought a Helix. Great! My amp is a Line6 HD25 top combined with a DT25 speaker cabinet. The amp and the Helix have L6 Link to communicate. For the HD25 amp in combination with my earlyer PODHD500 I used preamb models and no cabs. In the WT Helix patches you use IR's and normal amps and stereo effects. If I use preambs this results in a 'flat' direct out signal from the Helix. How do I solve this. Is the powercab 212 a better alternative, or do you have a good advise for my Helix and HD25 amp settings?

Perfectly said I am having trouble shaking not having the tube amp in the room. I have the Helix and the Line 6 Power Cab. I have owned many amps my last favorite is the Line 6 half stack HD100 Bogner and used it for a while and when it first came out and having trouble with the Helix and Line 6 Power Cab. So much money in these 2, I know from your and so many others the advantages with the Helix... And then If I go to play the HD100 I can plug and set my presets so quickly I am having trouble moving on to all digital. I am not a straight tube guy praise and worship and Christian rock. I bought several Line 6 Amps in the beginning and they were okay, then when I heard a tube amp it was night and day. I am missing something I know. I know what you are talking about in the studio driving the tube amp in another room and playing in the studio but you still have a that tube amp in another room driving the tone. I did not start out playing tube amps until I played my friends Fender Hot Rod Deville years later on in my playing and it was night and day then I found the HD100 Bogner best of both worlds then I saw the hype with the Helix and FRFR cab purchased and trying to make sense of it and the sound.

So when you turn off your helix cab and plug into a Power Cab does that automatically move the cab to the end of your sound chain or is there a way to maintain the Power Cab in the exact same position in your effects chain like in the Helix? I hope my question make sense :-)

Is there any reason for a Helix owner to get the Powercab Plus vs Powercab? Wouldn't you just normally run it as FRFR? Is there any benefit to separating the cab modeling from the Helix or does it sound the same if you compare apples to apples with like the same IR?

Really good domo. Ya know this kinda requires another demo and or opinion video. This is somewhat of a new option or concept for Kemper or Helix or AXFX users. The previous go to was a powered PA wedge such as a QSC or other brand. I'm partial to QSC in fact the new QSC powered wedges have a setting or tuning options supposedly adapted for us intelligent Kemper, Helix, or AX users. Please gimme an opinion. Love the channel guys so do keep up the quality videos.

@Luzuuu
@Luzuuu 5 жыл бұрын
The Powercab basically IS an amp, but it only has the power amp stage without the preamp. So you can't go directly into it with your guitar. You need some kind of preamp, either a preamp pedal or (most likely) a modeler with amp modeling like the Helix, Kemper, Axe-FX, Headrush, etc... Also the Powercab is set up for flat response so your amp/cabinet emulations will be reproduced neutrally.

I have a question: is the Powercab suitable to use in combination with the Line 6 HX Effects?
@worshiptutorials
@worshiptutorials 6 жыл бұрын
If you use only the HX Effects and the Powercab, you'll have nothing actually acting as an amp itself. The HX Effects is only effects, and the Powercab is only a speaker cabinet, so you'd still need some kind of amp modeling. Technically you could do it, but it won't sound like a guitar through an amp. If you used HX effects into an amp, then took the amp into some kind of a load box, and then went out to the powercab, that would work.

I purchased the Line 6 Helix two weeks ago, but I am struggling with how to set the sound propperly. I've bought different patches from WorshipTutorials (which are great!) I used it live in my church last week (XLR our > DI > PA) and in the room in sounded perfect! But when I am home, I use my headphones to hear the sound of the Helix, but that does not reflect the sound in a way people hear in the room (through the FOH/PA). All I'm after is that I want to be able to set and tweak my Helix sounds/patches correctly. By this I mean: I want a fair representation of what the people in my church hear through the FOH / PA. To achieve this, is the Powercab a good way to go for this purpose by using FRFR mode? Or is it better to buy FRFR studio monitors? The amp in the room feel is not so important to me and I don't want to use the Helix for recording. I am looking for a good way to hear the sounds coming out of the Helix and tweak my sounds, and know that it is comparable to what people in the room hear (through the FOH/PA). I'm quite new to all this gear and the Worship Tutorials videos are very helpful, but on this point I can use some how-to-do-this advice. Thanks in advance!

@F E For what you need specifically, the Yamaha DXR10 is perfect because as you say you do not want the amp in the room, but the most acuraccy signal of what you hear from the PA, the Yamaha is a very good FRFR and best of all 200 usd cheaper than the PC +

Direct out from Helix sounds the best to my ears. Direct out from PowerCab sounds noisy, and miced PowerCab sounds dark and muddy. Not sure if its your mic or what. I wonder what it's like in the room. However, think of it, if PowerCab is meant to make it sound more like a real amp in the room, when why is everyone struggling so much to make it sound good in their recorded videos - by logic it should behave exactly like an real amp, so miced up it should also record just like a real amp and sound just as good on the recording as a miced up real amp. Otherwise the whole amp-in-the-room PR is just BS right?

I'm missing something. Maybe someone can help. I though amp simulators/modelers are sampled at the speaker to produce the ACTUAL sound of a particular amp IF played through a flat amplifier and full range monitor speakers. So at this point according to all the reviews and demos I now have an amp that should sound like the one that was modeled. No more. No less. Now we have a speaker box with its own amp. It can be used as a flat amplified full range monitor speaker. OK. I still understand. BUT it also has a powered speaker that has a FIXED set of selectable speaker emulator modes. So with my Kemper I can get the sound of a specific amp. This sound encompasses the entire amp including the speaker and cabinet. So using this Line 6 Powercab as a FRFR makes since. But it does not make since to "degrade" my Kemper full amp patch by using one of Line 6's FIXED set of selectable speaker emulator modes. This will not sound like the Kemper patch I made or bought. Yes I'm sure this new thing sounds good (most new products sound good/different) but using the selectable speaker emulator modes is a step BACK from what I thought amp modeling is.
@bmitchellmusic
@bmitchellmusic 5 жыл бұрын
If I’m following you you’re basically asking what the point of the Powercab is? Yeah? I get that. I wasn’t sure myself till I played one haha a Kemper is my go-to rig. I love it. But what you’re getting is the sound of a mic’d amp. And it sounds great! The Powercab tho gives the *feeling* of an amp back. The Kemper can’t do that. I know it’s bizarre but if you get to try one, do it! It takes it a step further! Really cool.

Sorry guys, my first reaction was to give this a "thumbs down" for too many self-indulgent performances. You said yourself that the sound quality isn't going to be true thru any video demo as you proceeded to give us a concert. You eventually did get to the "info" part of this post and it was useful so I changed my comment to "thumbs up". I came here, like most others I'm sure, to here a review - not to watch/listen to an expose of your playing style. Thanks even so for the half of this video that was informative.

Thanks. In videos where there is more talking than playing, people say we play talk to much. I've honestly never heard anyone say there's too much playing and not enough talking in a review, but I get what you're saying. Personally, I enjoy hearing people talk about their experiences with gear rather than play it, since what you hear when someone plays something can be affected by so many other factors. It's always a balance we're trying to achieve.

Your titles are too small; too wordy; too many lines. Too much to read and absorb in too little time. Make bigger. Make shorter. Make linear.
